Greetings to all of you who may be reading this and to those of you will see this later. I have been using the hive platform for about a month now, and was first introduced to the hive engine via NFT Showroom by the NFT Twitter community. I am still fairly new so I want to extend my apologies to the hive community for not introducing myself properly as I have just been made aware that I should do this #introduceyourself post.
So who am I?
I am an Indigenous fine artist born in Jamaica, descended from the Accompong Maroons & Asante tribe of Ghana. I left Jamaica when I was 7 years old for New Jersey, US where I have lived most of my life. Throughout the years from my childhood to adulthood, drawing and painting have played such an important role in my being. Art, and my indigenous heritage have helped shape and mold me into the human I am today and it is through my art that I empower not just myself but others.
What About Hive Stands Out For You?
For me personally, what grabbed my attention with the hive engine initially was the support from the artists via the NFT platform I began using. Then I caught on to the hive blog and so on, and to me, this is a representation of what community looks like for real. Hive has something for everyone, whether you’re a journalist, painter, videographer, photographer, writer, performer etc. Above all else, hive offers users a platform to be themselves and to monetize their data and share with others in the process. Oh and the rewards! How can I forget about that. Now there are still more things I am learning about hive each day and communities such as the “Hive 500 Club” on Twitter created by Nathan Mars have been great in assisting.
How Do You Add To The Hive Community?
In addition to sharing information about hive with friends and strangers I come across, I host NFT giveaways once a week via Twitter. My goal in doing this is to spread awareness of the hive platform via my artwork and NFT Showroom. In closing, I just want to express my gratitude to all the users of this platform because together we are helping to create the community we need in the world. And through hive I will expand and empower my tribe and other communities I work with. We are the money, we have the power, and together we can make a change. I never thought the day would come where I would be writing statements that I once thought were cheesy, but I stand on that. HIVE to the moon and beyond!
