RE: I am Pro Veritas

Hello @proveritas! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive and introduced yourself to the community - congratulations and welcome!

Love your attitude by the way - there's enough doom and gloom to go around, so focusing on creating positive connections here with the community, and being more optimistic about everything is definitely something I vibe with. Or at least, I try to - gotta admit there are days that the naysayers get in my head. 😜

Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out - Hive Communities. Based on what you've shared, I think you might find these interesting to start with -

Music Community

Stick Up Music

AI Art & Information

And while I don't usually tag people in these comments, I think you might find the profiles of @stickupboys, @nickyhavey, @steevc, and @hivetrending interesting as well (and they, you 😊 ).

Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works. For instance, there's a post in the collection called 3 things Newbies should do in their first week on Hive that you might find helpful.

Please be aware that Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog, so it is important not to include content that you don't own without sources (and it shouldn't exceed 50% of the post). For more information, check this post - Why and How People Abuse and Plagiarise by hivewatchers.

I'm sure @thatkidsblack will continue to help you as you begin your Hive journey, but if you have any questions, feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server and we'll do our best to answer them, and again welcome to Hive!

Thanks for the mention. Motivation to write more!

Hi Traci! Thank you for the clarification and lengthy reply! I have followed the people you suggested. It's my intention to write original material only but if and when I include other source material I will definitely make sure to reference it.
Thanks for the warm welcome!

You're very welcome for the welcome! 😊

Yeah, there's a huge bit of a learning curve with Hive that can kinda throw people coming over from traditional social media.

Tweet out a pretty picture you found on the interwebz (no explanation, no source), people like & RT.

Post a pretty picture you found on the interwebz on Hive (no explanation, no source), you'll likely get tagged for plagiarism.

It takes some getting used to that since your content is monetized on Hive, people look at posting stuff that you don't own in a different light. But usually as long as you make the shared stuff clear, and have at least 50% original content (so, pretty picture from the interwebz sourced, and pretty picture that you took...lol), it's all good.

Well, that is very fair imho. As far as pics are concerned I will only be using my own (ai) art. As far as my writing goes, I will endeavor to only write original material 🫡
The learning curve isn't that hard actually.. it all looks very logically set up tbh..
Again, looking forward to sharing and connecting on hive.. thank you for taking the time and making this onboarding so effortless 🙏
