Intro post
Hi everyone I'm Stacey
I had a friend recommend Steemit to me a while ago and I've read a lot of threads here in the last few weeks. It took a while for my membership to become active and I was worried that I'd messed it up but it was activated today and it's all working fine now.
About myself
I'm a Veterinarian living in Australia and most of my work is associated with horses and in particular race horses. I love all animals but my first love has always been horses, so that's why I've gravitated to working with them.
To be honest I don't know much at all about crypto-currencies and I'm still not 100% sure about how Steem and Steemit works. There's just so many terms I don't hear in everyday life but I'm really interested and hoping to learn as much as I can.
I have heard of Bitcoin and wanted to learn about it but I've been so busy lately that I haven't really investigated it much. Looking through some of the threads here, it seems like I could have come to a good place to learn.
I've just ended a toxic six year relationship with a guy who I thought was going to be my future husband. The relationship turned abusive/violent and I stayed with him for way too long, even though all my friends were trying to convince me to leave him. He stalked me on social media and in real life but I've since moved to a new town where I'm hoping he won't track me down.
I'm a bit reluctant to post pictures of myself in-case it help him track me down.
Part of the reason I came here was because I don't think he knows about this site and some of the true friends that have stood by me for years have been trying to convince me drop f/book and twit and move over here where he won't see me.
I hope I can make some new friends here and contribute to Steemit in a positive way and also learn about crypto currencies along the way.
