Not much snow here!

in #intropost3 years ago

Hello Hivers, I'm pretty much brand new to the Peakd and hive community. I found my way here through an interest in crypto currency and eventually splinterlands (which I play daily at the moment).

My name is Pete and I'm a really keen snowboarder from the UK. Probably not the ideal location for my chosen hobby. I've been doing it for about 17 years now and there's still not much I love doing more. I've spent a lot of time in my local snowdome mostly messing about and doing freestyle. This is an old one from me at the castleford snowdome.

I've noticed a lack of snowboarding content on here so I thought I'd try and add to it in my own little way. So here's a few more pics of me snowboarding from over the years. This next pic was taken on a summer trip to the French alpes, I think a lot of people find it hard to believe it was about 20 degrees C that day. It's also my favourite trick, a method!

It would be great to hear from other snowboarders on here especially from the UK, although I'm doubtful there are that many. I'll leave one more pic from castleford so as not to image spam you guys. It's another from the fridge, "Cas Vegas)

Hive Power Up Day - April 1st 2022

I've tried snowboarding, but it generally hurt a lot. I seem to be better off on skis. Not that I get to the mountains very often. Enjoy your boarding.

Impact shorts are a must when learning, really helps reduce bum bruises. 🤣
I can ski a little but snowboarding is my passion.

Cool stuff and welcome!

Not a lot on here.. now that you mention it.. guess, you're right!

You must be very fit! It's pretty demanding..
Although, can't say I know for sure, I've only ever done it on a PlayStation.. ;)

Looking forward to seeing some stunts.. ha ha

Cheers, it gets a lot easier the more you do it. It's the most fun exercise I can think of. I'll be adding more for sure. 😁

Welcome man! Fellow boarder here from the states originally, but not much for shredding now that we moved to Mexico, lol. Nice pics! It's one of the few things I miss about the cold. Welcome, again, keep posting, looking forward to more from you :)

Hey, hows it going? What resorts did you ride in the states? I've not made it to America yet. Are there any good mountains in Mexico?

Good man! I'm from Minnesota, where there aren't really any mountains, rather hills. Lutsen would be the biggest in MN and I've been there a few times. Not to mention all over MN as well. Also Colorado, Keystone and Breckenridge. In Idaho, I've hit Baldy Mountain in Sun Valley. West is where it's at for big time snowboarding, although the East has some good spots too.

Can't verify if MX has any good mountains, definitely not where I'm at, too warm. But maybe farther south in the higher elevations there might be some, I haven't bothered to check as I'm so far away from there.

ooh some big resorts there, I think Breck is the most popular for Brits from the ones you've listed, I'd love to make it over some time.

Maybe wakeboarding is a better option as the weather is so warm? Its another sport I love but has crap weather for it here in the UK/

Breck is def very well known around the US.

Wakeboarding is doable down here, but it's in fact kite boarding, or foil boarding which I see the most of down here. We would do more wake boarding on the lakes back home in MN where the water is a bit more predictable.

Yeah the parks at Breck always look really fun.

I've never tried kiteboarding but I've seen the air some guys get and it looks insane. Hydrofoils look really cool too, a couple of people at wakeparks use them over here. I think I'll do a post with some of my wakeboarding pics from around the UK. 😁

Last photo is everything! Welcome to Hive! 😊😁

Thanks it's a favourite of mine too 😊
