The Indo-Pacific Lionfish has become the largest marine invasive species plague in human history, currently affecting a geographic area in the western Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean Sea marine environments that is FOUR TIMES larger than the entire land area of the United States. Coastal communities and the coral reefs they depend on for a sustainable livelihood, are being threatened with destruction in all of the affected areas.
