This post is about how to build a balanced portfolio of crypto coins to assure you significant financial reward in the next 1-5 years. Its an important part of your crypto education. Old world lessons often apply to the New World Economy, in this case: "Don't put all your eggs in one basket. "
A good portfolio is a recipe of both high, low, and moderate risk investments and a few no brainer, no maintenance practically slam-dunk investment.
Here is my list:
Bitcoin(BTC)- slam dunk - First mover, first impression power, arguably the largest, most stable and hardened network in the crypto world.
LiteCoin- (LTC) slam dunk-First mover, first impression power, faster than bitcoin and well established in the wallets of hundreds of thousands early investors.
Truckcoin(TRK), long term hold, moderate risk, high interest, experimental, pure pos coin promising huge annuity type return of investment staking wallet, 200%per annum interest.
Ripple-slam dunk- long term hold.First mover as a gateway allowing cash or crypto coin conversion into Ripples XRP token then back to crypto or cash, allowing instant international cross border transfer of value. Ripples instamine of billions of XRP, a big no no at the time, provided the founders with practically unlimited funds to weather the development stage of their corporation.
Steem-Moderate risk-long term hold- First mover as a block chain/crypto /social media venue with promises of an utopian social , economic, e-commerce in house societal eco system. Arguably the most explosive coin in the crypto world with a promise of a huge upside.
Ethereal Classic(ECT)- Moderate risk- long term hold-ECT is the surviving original ether blockchain declaring immutability, code is law, non forked virginity, with massive hash power promising a stable blockchain for smart contracts, dapps(decentralized applications) Just a few days ago Microsoft called a meeting in London to discuss the benefits of supporting the ETC blockchain.
Ethereum(ETH)- high risk- maybe long term gains, definite short term play (shorting and going long) forked from the original ether blockchain but retaining the original Ethereum handle- Reason of fork was to recapture stolen ether coins taking by a hack of a smart contract(The DOA) sitting on the ethereum block chain. Weak network but huge developer base. If Microsoft continues support then this forked coin will heal all wounds.
Monero(XMR) - high risk, short term gains- too much competition coming to displace this coin as the reigning invisible substitute for bitcoin dominance on the Tor dark web 60 billion dollar black market.
The above is an example of a balanced portfolio, imo.
There are other combinations of coins that would be similar in risk to reward.
Feel free to submit your own list. Like the above example just give a few one liners and why you think the coin is a slam dunk, high, low or moderate risk.
Going all in on one or two coins is always a bad idea in the crypto space. Spreading out your portfolio over multiple coins is much better. Also, follow the coin development. Listen for news. Buy on rumors, sell on news is the best advice I ever got. And don't listen to the trolls in the trollbox of your favorite exchange.
LOL, oh god the TROLLS. I gotta do a post on that or maybe you would like to do it. Could be funnier than hell, those wonderful, irritating jerks. But I have actually gotten some good tips off of some of those jerks so I should show a little appreciation too.
The occasional gem from the trollbox. More time than not though, not a good idea :) LOL
Shadowcash is interesting in the "Monero type" space. The wallet and tech are impressive. I imagine Monero will do better since it seems to be backed by Poloniex. Anybody's guess at this point. I am new to Steem, like in the past week. I am definitely adding it to my portfolio and trying to get involved here. :)
Shadowcash is one of those coins definitely competing in the monero space. Exchanges have too much power, really life or death to some coins but you gotta play the game according to the cards on the table and Poloniex/XMR have been black jack for quite awhile.
