Let me preface this post by saying how much I hate religion. It always somehow finds a way to breed prideful and arrogant men who think they know everything. They think because they know so much that they can speak as to exactly what God wants and Lord their knowledge over those who would seem to know less. Yes, I am a Christian and I believe in a supreme being that wants to have a relationship with men whom He created. And with my time within the greater "Church" and its' inhabitants I have come to find that there are many men and "leaders" who would give you a long list of do's and dont's. Stay away from alcohol completely, don't get too close to a woman, don't smoke a cigar, stay away from social media, etc. There are so many other examples but it reminds me of Colossians 2:16-23 (You can read that passage for further context).
One of those common "do not handle! do not taste! do not touch!" fallacies among Christians is money. In matter of fact it's a huge one. It has been demonized to the point where the Church preaches from a penance mindset which induces false humility and a warped perspective which leads people to believe that they should live impoverished and unsuccessful lives in order to be spiritual or godly. If you are good at making money you better give it away as fast as you can or you aren't a good Christian. If you don't have money you shouldn't do anything other than pray because "God will provide". I know it sounds ridiculous but these are common belief systems within the community. And in addition, the belief that money is the root of all evils and that eventually a one-world currency will ultimately exist before the end of the world keeps so many Christians on the sidelines of proper financial stewardship because of fear they might sin with their possessions and wealth or accidentally get sucked into an end-time "beast" system.
Because of this penance sideline mentality, they remove themselves from the game completely, and lose out on the opportunity to grow their finances to help not only themselves, but others. And let's be honest here, money is necessary to live and keep things moving forward. It is a simple reality.
Investing in any monetary system, though assuredly evil since people are fallible and prone to error, is actually prudent. If we are to be as innocent as doves, yet shrewd like a serpent, we can invest wisely without being considered greedy or sinful for doing so. Money doesn't need to be demonized as long as it is not worshiped. Ministries take finances to fund. You can build your own tents to finance your own personal ministry, or you can invest in those making tents and use the profits from that investment to fund not only your own ministry, but the ministries of others.
This ultimately has a multiplication effect on the growth of God's Kingdom which he requests from us (Matthew 25:14-30). And this is what is meant by stewarding a "talent"; to have a return of tenfold or greater. Also, this way you aren't begging from others at the gate for money in order to live in the city in which you intend to minister to (i.e. fundraising - historically, the poor would sit out in front of the city gate entrance and beg for money). It always grieves my spirit when I see friends going into ministry essentially living impoverished because they have bought into this religious system of penance and completely ignore financial stewardship altogether due to its' demonization from the Church.
So, the answer for you Mr. Christian is yes. You can and should invest in cryptocurrency. You don't need to be fearful if it is evil or if it is the "mark of the beast". If you can grow your current resources to better your life and the lives of others, then that is a positive investment with a pure motive.
(Final remark: The mark of the beast will be obvious and forced on the masses and cryptocurrency is not obvious, nor has it been forced, so you need not worry about that. When the time comes, if you have the Spirit of God, you will know for certain what is the mark of the beast and when to flee to the hills if necessary.)
