I doubt ETC has any future at all, with the lack of developers on the platform. EOS is a decent choice, but still quite early in development. Could be great, but probably not any time soon.
I personally like STRATIS as ETH hedge, a bit of a middle ground between ETH and EOS.

you know, i thought the same about ETC but it keeps not going away and out of nowhere it seems, Huobi picks it up boosting it further. made me reconsider a bit.
STRATIS is for sure a good one. for me, it being kind of a middle ground like you said i always just assumed the relationship between ETH and STRATIS to be less extreme in the sense where STRATIS going up in volume may not negatively effect ETH. to me they have a reasonable chance to coexist while EOS and ETC on the other hand are are more direct challenges to ETH's success.
i could be wrong though, and probably am, ha. but you are completely correct in saying STRATIS is a good hedge and honestly may even be a better one at the moment considering it is pretty well established.
