On Wednesday, Iran warned its military that it wouldn't hesitate to strike American and Israeli targets after US National Security Advisor John Bolton said in a conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Maximum Pressure will be utilized.
He had this to say:
“So we will see what plays out in November. But [Trump] has made it very clear - his words - he wants maximum pressure on Iran, maximum pressure, and that is what is going on.”
The following is what was said from Iran:
The words were issued during a public speech in Tehran by a senior cleric who works closely with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei named Ahmad Khatami. He told a congregation during Eid prayers in Tehran, "The price of a war with Iran is very high for America."
Khatami said, "They know if they harm this country and this state in the slightest way the United States and its main ally in the region, the Zionist regime (Israel), would be targeted.”
The last time Iran made this kind of statement, President Trump lost his marbles on Twitter in an angry backlash and a threat similar to the one made to North Korea. Although he has been quiet about this last one, maybe he learned his lesson. Only time will tell what will come from this banter between countries.
