Off to the Emerald Isle
Dublin STEEM Meet Up - St. Patrick's Weekend
This week I am flying out to Ireland to visit my friend @cneck. It has been many years since I last had the chance to drink a beer with @cneck, and it's long overdue. I will be flying to Dublin on Thursday March 8, with my friend Brennan (we'll get him on STEEM sooner or later) and I'll be in Ireland until March 19th. I met @cneck when I was working at The Emerald Bakery during high school. His aunt and uncle were the owners of the Bakery and @cneck would come from Ireland to help work around the holidays. Click here and you can see a post I made once the Emerald Bakery closed it's doors last year. I will be staying with @cneck about an hour outside of Dublin from March 8 - 11. Then Brennan and I plan to tour the country before making it back to the Dublin area by Friday March 16. We don't have anything set in stone and we are currently fielding any recommendations!
STEEM Meet Up
Last November I met @eroche at @steemfest in Lisbon, Portugal. @eroche participates in @steem-dublin meet ups on a fairly regular basis. I've been talking with @eroche and we have been discussing the possibility of a STEEM-related meetup in Dublin during the weekend of St. Patrick's Day. We hope to see many STEEM users show up!
March 16, 2018 - Dublin, Ireland
We will rendezvous at The Bull & Castle for some drinks (and maybe steaks?!). According to @eroche, the The Bull & Castle will be a good starting point due to it's location. Once we get a group together we can go on a pub crawl around town (similar to @detlev's famous Lisbon #BeerSaturday bar crawl). The entire city of Dublin will be booming due to the weekend's St. Patrick's Day shenanigans. It will be a great opportunity to go out and have a good time with fellow STEEM users, and perhaps gather some new STEEM friends along the way!
Address: 5-7 Lord Edward St, Dublin 8, Ireland

Sláinte!
I hope to see you there!
Paddy's is a great weekend around Dublin, I'm sure that you will have a good time with the group.
Welcome to Ireland @jeffjogoe - have a brilliant time. Hope to see you @steem-dublin meetup. Also if you are into the macabre there are mummified remains to see in the St Michens Church, then have a whiskey at Jameson distillery /museum in Smithfield - opposite Guiness! There is also Kilmainham Prison which is great if you get a guide who ll tell you the ghost stories along with the history (ask). And there is the very beautiful Kilmainham Art Gallery opposite ( watch video of Sinead o Connor's Nothing Compares To You to see some of the gardens). There is a lovely restaurant called Union 8 nearby for some food. Anyway i am from West Cork so if you are heading there let me know!
Thank you so much for all of the great info! I don’t think we will be making it down to Cork, but I appreciate all of the great ideas
You do a great job and I will try to come to the next one.
Haha sounds good @detlev! Looking forward to the next STEEMFest!
@jeffjagoe friend, good that you are going to travel I'm happy for you, I saw the publication of the bakery and this spectacular, luxury. I hope you do very well on your trip to Ireland, and well I hope you share with us the photos of that wonderful country, and of course I would also like to see the beers from there. I do not know Ireland or photos, and I'm sure that you will show us the wonders of it and that in a certain part we will live this adventure with you, because you will show us everything you do there. I hope you have a good time there.
Thanks @alejo1996 I hope to capture many photos and videos to share!
Thank you my friend, I will look forward to it. Success for you
Let me know how the Guinness in Ireland tastes!
I will! I’m hoping the Irish beers don’t disappoint. I feel fairly spoiled when it comes to beer around here.
Please upload photos of Ireland!!!happy travel!!
I most definitely will. Thanks @tikotiko!
I'll be there :) Just let me know a bit more about the time etc. but probably will be taking the train early morning. I will not be going back till the next day, but have to find a place to stay as the hotels and b&b's in and around Dublin are CRAZY priced....But then again, no reason to go to sleep at all lol.
Yess, I saw they are ridiculously priced. Currently I'll be staying at @cneck's that weekend which is about an hour away from Dublin but we were looking to hopefully get something closer. We shall seee. But you're right... sleep is for the weak!
Absolutely! We get more than plenty of sleep when we're dead lol. Plus, I'll have 3 hours on the train...and hopefully won't wake up in the wrong town haha.
Have fun in Europe!!
Thanks @missdeli! Only my second time ever visiting Europe and I can’t wait to be back :)
Well, have MORE fun than you did when you came first time ;))
I will try my best :)
I hope you enjoy your trip my friend @jeffjagoe
