Lately I haven't been writing that much and very little about crypto. A small bit on finances but my focus has drifted from the crypto world for now and until I find something new to get excited about i find it hard to hold that interest that i used to.
Apart from Hive and it's apps I can't find much to be interested in. DEFI or MEME's don't do much for me and in terms of real life use case it's slim pickings. I have some bags but the money aspect isn't the important thing.
But while life is busy and my time is limited I find that it opens my writing up to more lifestyle posts and what's going on with me right now.
I know that hive is semi anon and you can be as private as you want to be but if you find yourself writing hundreds of posts over the years then it's inevitable that some of your personality will leak out into the community.
You can remain anonymous and just post about crypto but very few writers here really do that. When your trying to post consistently then you need to mix up the content.
The old saying, write what you know applies in this case. And what do you know about than your own daily life. The Area around you, your hobbies, interests, family and life in general.
I might be wrong but all of the accounts that i interact with here have their own aura.
I've built up a mental picture of the person and their personality in my head without every meeting or seeing most of them. Hivefest must be a blast when you do get to meet these people in real life and try to match up your image against the reality of the person.
If I comment on your posts then i've a mental picture of you as a person.
I have a picture. A voice for each account.
It might be just me but i assume that you do the same for my account and my writing.
On hive your account is much more than just a social media presence. It's a bank, an investment vehicle, a voice. You have a reputation built on your words and your actions here which is a very powerful thing. There are very few sites online that you could say that about if any.
That's why it's so important to be a positive part of the community and try to impact positive changes here. We can all get frustrated and complain but your actions shape your image. We can positively point out flaws and solutions to add to our reputation which generally leads to growth and becoming a bigger part of the community.

I'm kind of going through the same thing with crypto right now. There's just not a lot for me to get excited about. I mean Main St, ETF's, and the banking sector getting involved, but that's not what I signed up for. I'm kind of looking for my place in crypto now.
I took a break from all social media over the summer. It was refreshing. I returned to Hive, just because I really believe in this project and it's the only platform I really missed. I set up a Bluesky account to promote my Hive posts.
Anyway, your words resonated with me. I'm kinda going through a thing right now with social media and crypto.
A smart move i think. I've pulled back from most sites as well since it's not fun right now. Hive is the only one that i actually enjoy even if it really frustrates me.
I just want to see real progress. Somebody to build a real business here that pulls people in and wakes the whole place up.
I've given up on the wider crypto world for now other than bitcoin. Too much crap, memes and scams. I'll buy and sell some but don't have any real interest in what's going on with them as i've seen nothing in the past few years to say that they are actually building instead of hyping.
It's going to take something special to break into the mainstream as the whole sector have such a bad reputation and rightly so after all of the scams and rugs. Hopefully hive can last long enough to make that break at some stage.

When first coming to STEEM one consequence was it opening me up to sharing many aspects of my life to the community at large. Although involved in crypto before Dan Larimer kicked off his "experiment", the token had little interest to me. The community was what kept me on the blockchain.
On STEEM i kept it all very anon but since hive i have felt at home in the community and don't mind sharing more of my life.
It's a strange place but some people have found a home on hive and it suits them. Who knows if the experiment will succeed but it's been a fun ride.
In many ways it is my opinion that the experiment has failed in terms of PoS governance. The whole fork shit show proved that. Even Dan abandoned it.
Being semi anonymous and fully transparent is the blockchain paradox. we are like a small family on here, so we do get to know each other quite well over the years.
You do get a feel for a lot of the accounts here since it's so small.
For better or worse we run into the same names again and again.
Ur acct is also ur brand, it makes you express youself in ways you wont have to in other places
I'm with you on the brand idea. Even written about it a few times in the past.
Your account is like a little business and all of your actions effect the brand associated with it.
I think it's important to treat it like a brand and do your best to have a positive impact on the chain.

Some prefer to be anonymous while some does not feel anything wrong even if their identity is known. At the end, I guess it is just about personal preference

In the early days, I'd post on Freewriters and Fiftywords and a bit about crypto and not much else, then over the years sports crept in, then I left for a while and posted on Scorum (worst mistake ever and in hindsight a huge waste of time and effort)
Then over time other bits and pieces permeated my posts and now I post about all kinds of everything and I like that some of my personality will live on here assuming Hive survives the test of time.
I always enjoy your posts whether crypto or real life, as they tend to be succinct and worth reading. I'm not a fan of the War and Peace efforts you sometimes see tbh.
