A local store had a sale on mini cucumbers, so I decided to brave making some home made pickels!!!
Step 1- Wash cucumbers
Step 2- prick little holes in cucumbers.
(I prefer to do this at the tops and bottoms)
Step 3
Put cucumbers in a bowl and cover with salt for at least 4 hours.
This will remove a lot of the water from thr cucumbers when when you place them in the bottle with the pickle brine.
Step 4. Make sure your mason jars are clean and washed. You can sterilize them by using a giant pot of boiling water to kill any potential bacteria if you plan on storing them for the winter.
Step 5. Create brine
Bring to a boil 1 cup of vinegar and 2 cups of water. 1tbs of fresh dill (or bottled dried dill seed if you can't find any)
1tbs of corriander seeds
And 1 small clove of garlic sliced small.
(I double this recipe per 2 mason jars)
Step 6:
Rinse off salt from cucumbers, discard the pulled out juice. Dry and place into mason jars.
Step7
Cover with the brine we made.
And cap your mason jars.
Let sit for a week. ☆
