Rich and poor are never a measure of glory in the eyes of Allah. For God, worldly possessions are the most insignificant, the evidence of the unbelievers also obtaining an abundance of provision from Him. Not only that, sometimes the poor have more glory at His side. The proof of Allah Removing the reward of alms when accompanied by hurt the recipient's heart, because God Wants to Keep the hearts of his less able servants.
قول معروف ومغفرة خير من صدقة يتبعها أذى
"Good words and forgiveness are better than alms accompanied by harmful acts." (Surah Al-Baqarah: 263
Sadaqah reward will be exhausted not left if in accompanied by attitudes or words that hurt the recipient. Not only that, the Qur'an also explains the terrible results of insulting the poor. Let's look at the following story:
In Surah Al-Kahf verses 32-42, Allah Tells about a rich merchant who owns two gardens. The wealth is so abundant because the garden is so beautiful, fertile and produces many fruits. But unfortunately, the wealth made him arrogant and insulting his poor companion.
وكان له ثمر فقال لصاحبه وهو يحاوره أنا أكثر منك مالا وأعز نفرا
And he had great wealth, so he said to his companion when he chatted with him, "My deed is more than your wealth and my followers are stronger." (Surat al-Kahf: 34)
His arrogance has hurt his poor friend. Then the words became more and more, "I do not think this garden will ever perish and the Last Day will not come.
