He isn't trying to respect other cultures but to spread right wing propaganda. He isn't interested in the real problem. Most Afghans do not have any learning of Islam due to poverty. They are too poor to send their kids to school.
Their understanding of Islam comes from what they hear from their local leaders or tribe leaders. These people themselves don't have any institutionalized learning of Islam. They practice a version of Islam that was introduced to them by US intelligence with massive propaganda efforts. The Taliban indoctrinates kids with jihadist textbooks paid for by the U.S.
They need to be re-educated.
