Today I found out about the Silk Road Travel project (@silkroad40) of Philipe taking his motorbike all the way from Vienna to China a long the Silk Road. I was secretly hoping that he would've started his journey at the last (most western) location, Valencia so we could have met.
You can follow his journey through his Steemit Blog and you can give him tips for his journey following the instructions by @manncpt .
So Philipe, if you read this, visit the Yerebatan Sarnıçı – The Sunken Cistern, they're beautiful but if you can, GO EARLY, right when they open. Otherwise your're going to stand in line for hours.
All the best to you and safe travels. We're excited to read your week one recap article!

@silkroad40: Like @for91days I highly recommend visiting the Yerebatan saray (the basalica cistern)! It is my favourite sightseeing place in Istanbul, because it's a unique and multidimensional mystical place with the ancient architecture and the light and sound effects. The atmosphere of the cistern was also featured in several films (e.g. James Bond), books and even in the video game Assassin's Creed: Revelations;-)
Thank you for the recommendation!!
Thanks for the interesting tip! I’ll try to squeeze it into the program here!
Great pictures you have on your blog! #congratulations
PS: ¡Que coincidencia! I lived in València - Saludos a las Fallas! 😉
No way ... how long did you live in Valencia? We came here 10 years ago.. And yes Fallas!!!! Our favorite. Have a blast in Istanbul.
Concerning Valencia - I worked as a research fellow for half a year there.
Great city and great vibe! Also great people and great fun (if you are around the wrong people 😁)
Thank you! I already love the city! (Well except traffic - It felt like 2h to drive from city borders to my hotel in the center. At 32C. On a motorcycle... 😊)
