Sicily my hometown (ENG-ITA)

I would like to write a post about my hometown Sicily. For those people who doesn’t know this is a triangular island in the south of Italy. Land of myths and legends, in Homer’s Odissey Sicily is called as "Sun Island" or from Sigmund Freud as the "loveliest region of Italy". Always considered as a magic island full of contradictions, rich in traditions and folklore, colors, warm and good food. Is famous for other bad things too, first of all the mafia: Sicilians went to America and established the mafia in NewYork city, all we know “The Godfather” film movie for sure.

But I don’t want to write about this old and much discussed question.
I would like to show to you about the most wonderful things of this beautiful island, secret place, fantastic landscapes and breathtaking beaches. I think there is nothing better than the picture to describe what I would say.


Vorrei dedicare un articolo alla mia terra natia la Sicilia. Per chi non fosse Italiano e non lo sapesse è quell’isola a forma di triangolo che si trova a sud dell’Italia. Terra di miti e leggende se ne parla nell’Odissea di Omero definite come l’isola del sole o da Sigmund Freud come la regione più bella d’Italia. Da sempre considerata come un’isola magica piena di contraddizioni, ricca di tradizione e folclore, ma anche di colore, calore e buon cibo. Ovviamente è nota anche per altri aspetti negativi, in primis la mafia: I migranti siciliani in America e la criminalità organizzata che hanno condotto in città come NewYork, del resto tutti conosciamo il film “Il Padrino”. Ma non vorrei soffermarmi tanto in questi argomenti ormai passati e tanto discussi.

Vorrei parlarvi invece dei lati più belli e affascinanti di quest’isola, luoghi nascosti, paesaggi fantastici, spiagge mozzafiato, arte e cultura. Penso che non ci sia niente meglio delle immagini per descriverlo.

My advice is to come here to discover, in the last years a lot of people comes here for holidays.
I recommend to come in the summer (not July or August because is too hot) so you can go for the beach.

Queste sono solo alcune mie foto ma sono tanti i paesaggi e le diversità dei luoghi che caratterizzano la Sicilia. Qui trovate il mio account Instagram, se vi va di seguirlo pubblico delle foto di ciò che mi circonda. Il mio invito è quello di venire a scoprirla voi stessi, credo che sia ancora una meta sottovalutata, negli ultimi anni il turismo è aumentato e in molti hanno deciso di venire in Sicilia per le vacanze. Consiglio pertanto di venire in periodo estivo (evitare Luglio ed Agosto per il troppo caldo) per poter vivere a pieno le fantastiche spiaggie.
