#2 PHOTO TRAVEL BLOG
While my last post was about Roppongi in the mega metropolis Tokyo (see it here) I want to share some pictures about a more traditional part of Japan. In fact you can find traditional and modern culture and also architecture side by side a lot in Japan, even in Tokyo.
This picture shows a part of Kinugawa Onsen, a hot spring resort around the Kinugawa river. As I am a big fan of hot springs this was one of my first travels last year in autumn and this picture was taken around the area of the hot spring hotel we stayed for the night. If you ever have the chance to travel to Tochigi/Kinugawa Onsen during autmn, do it, it is definitely worth it. And I can just recommend to stay in one of the hot spring hotels, it is worth every Yen.
While in Tochigi another great city to visit is definitely Nikko. We went there for a short trip right on the next day during our way back home. This picture shows the famous Shinkyō bridge which was constructed in 1636 and later renovated.
Here you can see the entrance to the famous Futarasan shrine which goes back to the year 767. The shrine is also currently UNESCO world heritage, together with the Tōshō-gū and Rinnō-ji shrines in Nikko.
Sorry I am lacking a bit of pictures here, as this was just a short travel. I will definitely go back there and will take some more pictures for sure in the future (just when is the question haha).
That looks like a nice place to explore, but I wouldn't want to run into some of the bugs over there. I had a friend, who lived in the middle of Japan in some small village. Apparently, there were some huge centipedes!
While it is true, that some bugs are really big here and you have to be careful, otherwise you have to share your home with some cockroachs and maybe the one or other ants colony, I think you can get easy used to it. Well, it has also some really big spiders, if you hate spiders, this could get a problem :)
Haha, well it sounds like a good place to do some macro photography! As long as the spiders aren't likely to bite, anyway.
Yep, it is definitely. All spiders I have seen here were lazy hanging around in their webs, so nothing to worry.
