梅雨 ☔️
tsuyu. "rainy season."
Not my favorite season, but perhaps a fitting precursor to the sunny seaside festivities of umi no hi, or "Sea Day."
Rainy season here in Niigata has come late this year, and brings with it its usual low hanging clouds, uncomfortable humidity, and general malaise-inducing conditions.
As one who tends to find his mood perhaps disproportionately affected by the weather, staying positive through this gray-day season is no easy feat.
That said, the fam and I are planning a short Sado Island vacation after this, for Sea Day, so I am staying up, moving forward, and--appropriate to atmospheric conditions of the season--
Steeming on.
Please enjoy these all-too-typically Tsuyu, photos.

Thanks for stopping by!

Great pictures :D
No matter the condition, be positive and happy because tomorrow will bring a new and beautiful day. Wish you more success and happy days in Japan
Although not your favorite season, but still there are beautiful memories created in your days.
This is very true. Thank you.
Goodness, all I can imagine from those photos is hot and humid. I hate that combination and that type of weather always made me feel groggy!
You said it!
love it ❤
Aahh looks like a good place to visit, rainy or not :)
Cool...I want see this city :))
Enjoy Sado! And let me know if you see the other Jenkins that lives in Niigata. ;)
Will do!
I dont know why, im so love japan
Nice post n great pict @kafkanarchy84
梅雨が爽やかと思います. この季節があまり好きじゃないですか?
蒸し暑いのであまり好きじゃないですね。。。でも、もちろん綺麗です。
分かります。。。多分新潟の蒸し暑すぎる。(Sorry if my Japanese is sketchy... haha)
A day with rainy weather in Japan is still a good day! I haven't been since 1999, and I want to go back.
Enjoy your vacation!
Enjoy your vacation! You deserve a break! @kafkanarchy84
Japan is so beautiful and I hope to live there
@kafkanarchy84 - Photos of the rain, rather than the beauty, are important because of the 'feel' of the season and the city. I do not know how it works in a modern city like Niigata but the rainy season brings a typical moist smell and feeling of a thousand sprinklers being turned on that I love. Your pictures do show the magic of tyusu. Thanks for sharing.
I request you to take a look at my blogs when you have time. I have posted a blog about an Orange Moon . I would love to get your comments. Thanks
I love rainy days! So beautiful to watch and listen
What are you still doing in Japan??? If I were you I would pack my bags and fly anywhere else! Dangerous radiation is still being emitted from Fukushima today! http://bgr.com/2017/05/07/fukushima-nuclear-exposure-worldwide/
From your article:
I hope they are right for everybody's health in Japan. Somehow I don't trust the government nor their scientists anymore. Its always is a lot worse than they report so as prevent people from panicking if they knew the truth. Remember the goverment is a class of rulers who care about themselves. If there was mass emigration from Japan to escape the on-going radiation fallout, the governement's power would be weakened.
Nice Photography
I miss how terrified people are of rain in Tokyo ....be strong! At least transportation is convenient during the rainy season
What have to do a statue with the rain i don't understand?
Great post and I enjoyed these pictures!
