Some final photos of Sado Island, thoughts on anarchism, and getting back to the regularly scheduled Steem.

in #japan7 years ago (edited)

Well, I just got back from Sado Island, Niigata, Japan.

The island lifestyle I witnessed in my short time being there seemed quite conducive to a more independent, Voluntaryist existence than normal "city life" here on the mainland.

Lots of gardens, nature, cheap houses for rent, and a generally slower pace, combined with the isolation inherent to island life, meant that the folks there were...well...different.

I can't help but thinking about Steeming and blogging/creating full-time from some remote location on Sado, while also becoming more and more self-sufficient food-wise, and more focused on my thoughts, family, writing, etc. There is a certain quietness there that I really like.

Who knows. We shall see.

Here are a few final photos of beautiful Sadogashima (Sado Island):

The restaurant was called Tengoku, or "heaven." The food and beer really were.

We shall be back! Oh yes! We shall!!!

That's it! Please forgive the absence of this week's "From the Monday Steem Desk." It was a national holiday today "Marine Day," and as such I was swimming!

Looking forward to diving back into my regular blogging habits again now that I am a bit refocused and inspired. Peace!

Nice photo's!!! Japan is at the top of my list of places I want to visit when I start traveling around the world. What's a good Japanese area you would recommend for me, as a must see?

Thanks! There's a lot to see. You can't miss with Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagano, and Osaka. It all depends on what you are into. If you do decide to come, let me know where you are going and I can give some more specific suggestions. As for me, my favorite place is probably here in Niigata! Cheers!

thanks for the advice. when i do go ill make sure to let you know where i'm going to visit so i can hear your more specific suggestions. Your photo's of japan Inspire me to work on setting up my trip. I hope to see more of your work in your future post.

Looks like a great place. I really like the artwork prints. I am also thinking about looking for a nice calm place and totally focus on writing and creating. It is really awesome how the creativity gets a push through sharing the works and getting rewarded for them :)

Thanks for sharing awesome Photos @kafkanarchy84

@kafkanarchy84 - it was really nice to experience the sedate pace and quality lifestyle of Saḍo island through your eyes. The breathtaking landscape, a gold mine, cold beer made from rice and heavenly food in the 'heaven' restaurant - what more can one wish for. Any thoughts of shifting there ? Looks like the thought has crept in your mind. Thanks for sharing. Upvoted.

Update at my end is that, I have continued focus on my passion of wildlife photo blogs with my musings as a twist. Have written a blog about Dueling Duo - How Impalas manage conflict. I would be honoured if you can take a look and provide your valuable comments. Thanks.

Have never even heard of Sado Island before, but it does look really beautiful (just like the rest of Japan) though.
Would love to visit one day.
