We traveled to Japan on January 27, 2023, for a 10-day trip with our toddler! It was hard, but we survived. The flight from Manila to Haneda Airport in Japan was about 5 hours long. This was our first international trip, and we traveled with three other families from my partner's mother's side.
Our first international trip! Our departure was around 8 am. As a Filipino, of course we were there at 5 am lol. Woke up 3 am, at around 4am we travelled from Marikina to Pasay, that was about an hour of travel time.
Now, we're off! I think the little kiddo was scared when we took off, but he didn't show it. Instead, he said he was "sleepy," and we held his hands anyway.
We traveled with PAL. We never had a bad experience with them! The little one is now distracted with watching movies.
Arrived just in time with no delays!
From the Haneda Airport, we hop on to a train going to Gotanda, where we'll be staying
Our room in Mystays at Gotanda. Getting ready to eat out
First order of business!
We tried Yoshinoya here, and it is way waay different than the branches here in Manila!! It's much more tasty, lots of side dishes, and more sauces available on the side!
Checked out some stores around gotanda, then rain poured. We headed back to our hotel room to rest and called it a day.
We were already in our PJs when we saw a rare (yes rare!- it was in the news) snow outside of our hotel window! We were excited, we are welcomed by this beautiful snow!
note: In the typical year, Tokyo gets only one or two days of light snowfall
Conor's first snow experience!
Happy kiddos!
Nightcap. Much needed Strong Zero beer (and sausage and smoked cheese which by the way is the best combo!!) to end the night.
P.S I'll be posting Day 1 of our Tokyo travel tomorrow! Stay tuned!

What an early flight! But PAL is the best~ 😅 And whew, glad your toddler didn’t cry or had tantrums.
Love your outfit in that snowy night 😅
And oh, welcome back to Hive! Just read your other post😉
Hi Witz! Thank you for the warm welcome! Appreciate it! Ah yes, we're the luckiest parents in the world! 🙂 & thank you!! 'fits are from last minute shopping in the PH 😅 Btw, Are you currently residing in Tokyo? Love that for you!! We love Japan!!
Lucky parents yes but I also think you are great parents in raising your kid! 😅 The last time I flew from PH, I was sitting beside a family and their kid was having tantrums. Good thing during the flight the kid and I, we became playmates 😅 But she had tantrums again the moment the passengers were disembarking 😆 It was funny but maybe other passengers were annoyed. 😅
And yes, I am living in Tokyo now ☺️
Aww! Thank you for your kind words! 🤗 Yes, it is not easy for us parents to have kids with tantrums, I can feel the parent's anxiety!
Ah! See you around! will definitely come back!
I hope so!! Will also be waiting for your next post~ I bet you and your entire family had fun!
These are treasured moments with your kiddo. He will remember this when he grows up. !PIZZA 🍕
