Japanese developer of the Ethereum left the project, fearing the illegality of its work

One of the developers of the Ethereum, Yoshi Hirai, leaves the project, fearing that the Change Proposal (EIP 867) for a standardized format for the return of lost funds could potentially violate Japanese law.

"Some EIP editors carelessly refer to the legal consequences of this proposal. I warned them, but that's all I can do. Therefore, I leave my post, "- wrote the developer.

In particular, Hirai noted that the proposal could violate the law of Japan on "The creation of unauthorized electromagnetic records", which refers to cases of computer fraud, in particular the illegal creation of data "with the intention to lead to the unlawful management of the affairs of another person."

Last week, Hirai blocked the proposal, saying that it violated the "philosophy of the Etherium" - a requirement based on the code-making process, as detailed in EIP 1. Although later he changed this view, the developer did not abandon the belief that EIP 867 may violate the laws.

The EIP 867 proposal is headed by Dan Filfer of the Musiconomi project, which, as a result of freezing funds in the Parity purse, lost 16,475 ETHs last year.

The proposal of Filfer caused controversy among developers, and some urged the public to participate in the discussion. According to the statement, efforts were made to improve the platform process for making code changes.

Before leaving the project, Hirai was one of the six developers of the Etherium with the right to approve changes to the platform code. According to GitHub, during his work in the project he made 5,219 additions - more than any other participant in the project.738621bed5b7e27b3936bee7cbb83c8d.jpg
