PRESS RELEASE FROM ABS-CBN GLOBAL:
Over the years, overseas Filipinos had been faced with different challenges such as familiarity and adaptation to the country of choice, handling finances, job security and seeking opportunities to move to other countries.
These are just some of the struggles overseas Filipinos in the Middle East and Europe face, and not all of them are properly guided and informed on what to do and where to go when faced with these kinds of situations.
This is a reality realized by ABS-CBN Global, and through its flagship brand The Filipino Channel (TFC) it will provide guidance to overseas Filipinos through “KABAYANi Talks”, which will be available on TFC’s different platforms.
“We realize the ongoing and new challenges that our overseas Filipinos are struggling with amidst the current socio-political situation in the region. ‘KABAYANi Talks’ is one of the interactive platforms we will launch to address these needs to become more responsive to the people we serve. It will be available across social media platforms where they are already part of,” said Joseph Arnie Garcia, ABS-CBN Global Managing Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
"KABAYANi Talks" is a public service program that aims to guide overseas Filipinos in the Middle East and Europe with the necessary knowledge that will help and empower them in facing different challenges, advancing their career, and planning the future while working and living abroad.
The first episode of the show will tackle concerns about opportunities in moving to another country known as emigration, which is streaming via TFC online (www.TFC.tv), with simulcast streaming on ABS-CBN Middle East Facebook page and TFC Europe Facebook page on August 25 at 8:00 P.M. (Manila time) which is 3:00 P.M. in the Middle East and 2:00 P.M. in Rome. It is hosted by ABS-CBN news anchor Jasmin Romero.
The subject-matter experts who will join the first episode of the show are Ivy Miravalles, Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) division chief for the Migrant Integration and Education Division (MIED); Frencel Tingga, CFO Senior Emigrant Services Officer; and Edwina Lema Beech, the chairperson of Australia and New Zealand Association of Employment Providers of the Philippines (ANZAEPP).
Beech has years of experience in the international recruitment industry and will answer concerns about necessary documents and other factors to be considered in applying for a job in Australia and New Zealand.
On the other hand, Miravalles and Tingga will respond to questions about the rights of overseas Filipinos, how they can adapt to their new community with a different culture, and the programs of the Philippine government even after they have left the country.
The questions may be sent through the comments section of the streaming via TFC online (www.TFC.tv), ABS-CBN Middle East Facebook page (facebook.com/TFCMiddleEast), and TFC Europe Facebook page (facebook.com/TFCEurope).
