Gigantic Jellyfishes???

in #jellyfish7 years ago

I had the best time with my mom and my best friend at sea in Greece last year!

We decided to go at the end of August and the beginning of September. It seemed like it would be just the right time and weather.
As soon as we arrived we realised everything was just like we imagined it would be, except for this one "little" thing.
That one thing were Jellyfishes. It might not be a bother to someone but I was afraid to get into the water because of them.

As it turned out, exactly that time of the year is when Jellyfishes come out of the depths.
How lucky were we... :D
After seeing them for the first time I was quite fascinated. Their color is so unique, but the size is what attracted me the most. I didn't expect them to be that big.
So, I did a small research on them.

Jellyfish range from 1 millimeter to 2 meters. Their body contains 95-98% water, they eat small sea animals like plankton and little fish, and float in the sea.

Amazed with this creature, of course I had to touch it. As soon as I did it felt gelatinous and soft.

The thing I hated the most is seeing people catching them and getting them out of the sea without returning them. I felt like crying when seeing their cruelty!

In order to try to find a place where we can enjoy swimming without the fear of jellyfish stinging us we rented a pedalino. Pretty soon we discovered how silly we were to think something like that.
They are EVERYWHERE :D !!
So we just decided to watch them and enjoy.
These jellyfish were so big, probably from about just a few centimeters to 1 meter big.
Their sting is not that bad, they were a bit afraid, and when we touched the top of them they wouldn't try to do anything but to go deeper-get away.
I loved every moment of meeting jellyfish. <3

I hope you love it as much as I do!!
