Here is my entry for the supernatural contest.I want to specially thank@jerrybanfield for organizing this wonderful contest.I would like to write this truelife story for my entry.
I was already due, over 36 weeks but I did not go into labour,I began to panic because this was the first time it was happening to me.I am a mother of three, and this was to be my fourth child and my first son.Why was he not coming? Was he dead? The doctors told me I was to give birth about two weeks ago but here I was ,still heavily pregnant. My husband,Solomon, tried to calm me down and gave me instances when his friends' wives didnt give birth as at when due and their children came out healthy. But still, this did not calm me down,I had to go to the hospital. I took my bag that thursday morning and went to my hospital. It took me less than an hour to see my doctor. The doctor was so happy to see me and ushered me to my seat; I thanked her and sat down. I told her what was bothering me and she told me to lie on the bed in her office. She did an ultrasound and told me the baby was very healthy and jokingly said probably he did not want to come out yet to face Nigeria hustle, she assured me that many other women had experienced it and assured me that before the following week ended,The baby will be born. She offered me an apple and I thanked her,at least,my mind calmed a little.
And true to her word,on the tuesday of the following week,I went into labour. It was in the evening, and I was so happy my husband had come back from work.My huaband quickly grabbed the car keys and put the baby bag into the car; he told the children to go to our neighbour's apartment while he took me to the hospital.
After about three hours of pushing,I became so tired that I couldnt push anymore. The doctor had to tell my husband that I needed to undergo a caesarian section since I was tired and the baby was already in distress.Solomon quickly agreed to this and the theatre was put in place.
The whole medical team was set and I was sedated. The surgery was successful up to the point when they brought my baby out.He was already weak and was suffering from mild respiratory asphyxia. The nurses quickly took him and dressed him..he became ok in no time. Now as they were stitching me back, one of the surgeons had a call and decided to pick it,he was told a very bad news and without being conscious of what he was doing ruptured my uterine arteries..
The theatre was in chaos,I had lost enough blood already but with this rupture, more blood was being lost.My blood pressure began to drop, and my heart rate became irregular. I began to jerk seriously on the surgery table.
I got up from the table,Still seeing how the doctors and the nurses were running round, trying to save my lifeless body. No!!!!! I screamed;it cant be. I was dead and it was my spirit that had left my body. Who will take care of my baby boy, and my three beautiful girls. I could not imagine. I began to cry uncontrollably and started asking God for mercy,I prayed for him to give me back my life to be there for my children, they were too young to be without a mother.
"I have a pulse! " a doctor said after 10 minutes of me being dead." The heart rate and blood pressure is rising too!" Shouted a nurse. Everybody heaved a sign of relief. I would have been declared dead about 5 minutes earlier if not because of the doctor that caused the whole panic,he did not give up,saying he would not have to deal with two bad news in a day.
After about 2 days the surgery was performed,I woke up. And everybody was happy,I held my baby boy in my arms and cried as he smiled sweetly at me,and finally I said," I will name him Anuoluwapo",which means the mercy of God is in abundance.
Its been two years now and my Anu just clocked two. I will forever be grateful to God.!
My baby now
Anuoluwapo at 3 days old.
Once again ,thank you@ jerrybanfield for giving me the opportunity to share my more of a resurrection rather than a near death experience.
