Here's my minnow gripe about steemit

Excuse my rant ☺️ it's hard being a minnow on steemit and it's easy to lose your enthusiasm when it seems like few people are interested in your data 🐳🌬️🐑 I seem to be coming to the conclusion that steamit suffers from the same problems of wealth inequality and Power in the hands of the few that the rest of the world society in general are suffering fromπŸ’°πŸ˜ŽπŸ”Œ

This has troubled me about my interaction of 130 plus days on steemit πŸ€”πŸ””πŸ’‘ I have created 379 posts I have 409 followers and I have a reputation of 40 ☺️😎⭐ if it wasn't for @steembasicincome mostly my posts would be worth less than $0.02 πŸ’Έβš οΈβœοΈπŸ“Έ I seem to be being asked to buy influence at almost every turn in order to receive value in steem dollars and steam powerπŸ”ŒπŸ’ΈπŸ˜ I've even had my bandwidth throttled! what's up with that?πŸš‚πŸš’πŸš€ my dreams have gone out the windowπŸ’πŸ’ΌπŸ‘«πŸŽΉπŸ¦πŸŽ‚

It's a natural proclivity to the centralization of wealth and power that those with resources would like to keep them πŸ’°πŸ˜ŽπŸ”Œ one will always face resistance when asking those with wealth status and Power to give or lend them to someone else πŸ’ΈπŸ”ŒπŸ€”one will usually also be charged a feeπŸ€‘πŸ’ΈπŸ’Ό there's something wrong when you have to pay something to give something else awayπŸ‘·β€β™€οΈπŸ‘·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€‘ the work you do to produce data for the network has very little value effect because of thisπŸ€”β™ οΈβœοΈ also it devalues the humanity of individuals πŸ€”βπŸ””

when those with wealth status and Power get resources they tend to HODLπŸ‘«πŸ’°πŸ”Œ instead of sharing with others πŸŽ‚πŸ¦πŸ” especially those that have little πŸ’ΈπŸ’ΌπŸ‘·β€β™€οΈ they see the hard work flying away to those without ambition or value to them πŸ’°πŸ˜ŽπŸ”Œthey would much rather give to others like themselves πŸ’°πŸ˜ŽπŸ”Œ

I would propose that any data is valuable to the network because it is data and processing that the network feeds onπŸ˜‹πŸ”πŸ‘ it's true that a user uses processing power to interact with the networkπŸ”ŒβœοΈπŸ‘·β€β™€οΈ it's also true that in doing this they create data β„ΉοΈπŸ’ this to my mind equals things outβ™₯️♠️♦️♣️ data creation equals processing power πŸ”ŒπŸ”β˜ΊοΈ then what remains to be paid for? The answer is the work πŸ‘·β€β™€οΈβ„ΉοΈβœοΈπŸ”ŒπŸ˜ŽπŸ’°

My creativity has sharpened and my ability to write has clarified greatly since I've been on steemit βœοΈπŸ”ŒπŸ˜ŽπŸ’° that's worth a lot πŸ’πŸš€πŸ€”on other social media I was reposting posts, here on steemit I am creating my own articles and graphic art🎨🎭 that's exciting and I've grown as an artist by interacting with this networkπŸ‘·β€β™€οΈπŸŽ¨πŸ€”

there's a kind of funneling of creativity towards a certain kind of Direction/influence, that causes the subjects of posts here on steemit to be similar in order to be successfulπŸ€”πŸ’°πŸ˜Ž as an artist I resist Direction and influence in order to express and have the power of convictionπŸ”ŒβœοΈπŸŽ¨ jumping through hoops in order to prove ones value is a manipulationπŸ˜ŽπŸ¦πŸ€” even when it's couched in reward πŸ’°πŸŽ‚πŸ¦

So I bring this to your attention πŸ€”βš οΈπŸ’‚ and invite a discussion about these mattersπŸ—£οΈπŸ€”πŸ‘·β€β™€οΈ
Thank you🦍🐢🦊🐹🐘🐬🐟🐳

I completely agree that the current system is bad for growth, newbies, and the platform as a whole. Resteemed

@lildebbie (33) having been here only a short time, and feeling to be at the very beginning of understanding what it takes to be successful here, it might be premature to draw conclusions about the whole system emoji Network spider web interaction with other networks and cryptocurrencies, I'm at both once worried and inspired by the idea that interacting with the network shapes my behavior to be similar to others, while at the same time making me more creative and inventive in my own post musings writing and art emoji artist palette paint brush typewriter computer interface πŸ‘‹πŸŽ πŸ’› it seems I've use the answer to your comment as a jumping off point for a new article so I thank you 4 the inspiration share and upvote β˜ΊπŸ’‘β˜ΊοΈ

URI ERROR URI-ERROR.png #urierror

The first thing steemit needs to do is get rid of flagging. I haven't seen it used for anything but whales attacking minnows so they can get even more rewards and stifle criticism like what happened to @erebus

@lildebbie (9) also there is a great deal of control if not censorship about what one is able to repost and I think the power is wielded as you say through flagging

The one reposting shit is that spammer berniesanders. And he is raping the reward pool while doing it. If you ever wonder why your posts doesn't make more money, he is why.

I don't agree with this one. Without flagging we wouldn't have any tool to fight the bots, spammers and scammers.

But if they can use it too then how does it help?

The million dollar question... Maybe there is power in numbers who knows. I'm counting on the fact that the most of the people using this blockchain are real humans, and not bots. We should keep it that way.

Just keep putting out content, your audience will find you.

You got a good post here, but until folks know you are here they can't look for your content.
The way to get that attention is to comment on other folk's content.

If this was easy everybody would be doing it, and it wouldn't be cool.

@freebornangel (65) thanks for the comment and encouragement, it means a lot when other bloggers take an interest, and you're so right that if it was easy everyone would be doing it, and it wouldn't be cool😎 fortunately for me I probably would continue blogging just because of the indelible storage that the platform provides πŸ€” what is interesting is that trying to get the platform to accept me like any minnow does has actually helped me to develop as a blogger and artist in generalπŸ‘πŸŽ¨ have you been here long?⏳⏰ Was it a difficult Journey for you? ☺️ Thank you so much for resteeming this post and again for your interest it means a lot and stay free freeborn

I've been here a year and a half, it is what it is.
They told me upfront that my content wouldn't receive support from stinc, et al, and they have proven themselves mostly right.
It's a good thing I am not here for the rewards, but to make a record of having lived.

Just hang in there, the distribution is fixing it's self, in year or two when steem is 50usd and we only get tiny fractions of a steem for sp payouts you will be glad that you did.

I wish we could have .1usd steem price again just so I can build more sp faster, but that probably isn't going to happen and would be bad for other reasons.

@freebornangel (65) yes so true it is what it is and it is upfront about what it is so I bear no grudge in fact I support the platform wholeheartedly because at the moment it's one of the best things going if not the best and it has such great possibilities πŸ₯‚πŸ””πŸ€” any whining that I do probably comes from the fact that I can see some of us can see that there might be a better way I'm at this nearly does it and it's so near to being the thing that it's frustrating when you see areas where it's not πŸš€πŸ”¦πŸ””πŸ’‘ and is the distribution fixing itself? I think that it's the nature of these Technologies to decentralize power distribution and value πŸ’»β²οΈπŸ›ŽοΈ give him a time this fact maybe strong enough to counteract the human tendency to hoard manipulate and use while pretending to act in the best interest of all πŸ€‘πŸ˜œπŸ€–πŸ˜ΊπŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“πŸ‘©β€πŸš€πŸ•΅οΈπŸ‘±πŸ‘Έ the price of steem may always be a factorπŸ’°πŸ’±βœ‰οΈ it must have been interesting to be aware of this at a time when the price was so low πŸ’ΈπŸ’³πŸ’Ή part of fixing this distribution is to add value by the sheer momentum of people trading the currencies using themπŸ“₯πŸ“«πŸ“¦ it brings value where there was none before and so how can we move that value best towards those that need it most?πŸŒˆπŸ¦πŸΆπŸ¦πŸ¦ŠπŸΉπŸΌπŸ¦ƒπŸΎ

I wish I had known how the price rising affected rewards, I might have kissed some more whale butt.

The way I see going forward is to vote posts with low rewards, to not vote posts with high rewards.
Just pick a value, and don't vote on posts with more than that.

@freebornangel (65) it seems a little bit like the world's pollution problem where one is encouraged to recycle once plastic bags which certainly does some good while at the same time the army or military drops bombs on countries all over the place creating more pollution then any single individual or even group can deal with emoji B-2 bomber yeehaw atomic bomb riding, railing against the root cause at so many do on social media doesn't seem to do much except get people annoyed emoji ostrich head in the sand, and that seems like a waste of energy emoji steam engine with no coal in the furnace. Consciousness itself has to upgrade and the network with its many connected individuals has the potential to do this emoji brain coming out of top of person's head, right now humans are still providing the conscious awareness of self for the network though this may change with the Advent of artificial general intelligence emoji friendly robot taking care of stupid humans, let's look at the big picture somewhat to well up voting those little minnows best as we can emoji big fish smiling at school of little minnows

railing against the root cause at so many do on social media doesn't seem to do much except get people annoyed

Not my problem, if the truth hurts someone's feelings maybe they should alter their truth.

Consciousness itself has to upgrade and the network with its many connected individuals has the potential to do this.

Yes, but will they if we don't point out their errors in logic?

up voting those little minnows best as we can

That is the plan.

Keep grinding!!! There’s light at the end of the tunnel. Your emoji skills are πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ : )

I haven't gotten an answer from steemauto as to why the bot is not voting comments.

No...no..no....don't mind me. You are such a sweetie. : )
Get those votes to the creative ones and people making quality posts. I'm just a pain in the butt in the comment sections. lol
I'll find my niche and begin posting soon. You're awesome! : )

@tinylayla (42) thanks for the comment it seems that when enough people see through the illusion of the barrier to the light, then light will shine through Emoji smiles rocket ship Cloud blowing wind spirit guide animal smiles

@meez (26) explainπŸ€”βŒšπŸ›ŽοΈπŸ’‘

He means the first thing that steemit should change is that posts should make money for ever, not just the first 7 days.

@lildebbie (33)what do you think? should the payout continue? what about edit and resteeming?

I'm not sure how the site actually works so I don't know if its feasible. But I would like if posts could make money forever. I think it might help grow the platform too.

@ meez (27) I'm inclined to agree with #PayOutPeriod2BEternal but I find myself wondering if the reason that it was put in place has to do with an ability to scam the system? Is that correct? What are the consequences? In fact even if there are negative consequences I think that probably the positive ones out weigh them? What do you think?

What's a URI error? URI malformed is an error I've encountered postingπŸ“¬πŸ“«

Β 7 years agoΒ (edited)Β

When I was a newbie I supported that idea too. Now that I've worked almost a year without a break I'm finally breaking even so I'm actually becoming accustomed to having the pay period being only 7 days. It just means I can't become lazy and post just once a month instead of once a day.

I really like this post. It hits to the heart of how I feel as well. It's disheartening when you write an original song posted on D sound and nobody listens to it or upvotes it and you know it's a decent song. Very disheartening

@acousticsteveo thanks for the comment ☺️ I think a social media site could be run in a similar manner 2 how it was done in Marshall brain's book Manna... Each month you were given an amount that you could use 2 invest in projects you agreed with, travel or buy things for yourself πŸ€” since everyone got the same amount everyone had the same amount of power πŸ”Œ while projects could still centralized power for their purpose by allocating their value much like it's done here on steemitπŸŽπŸš€

@acousticsteveo (37) Hi again, when I answered your comment before I'd just read a great article about Marshall Brain's book Manna and so it was overwhelmingly in my thoughts, when what I meant to say is that sometimes to the minnow it seems like steemit is like a private club full of people speaking a language you can't understand with a purpose that is purposefully hidden, and so I feel for you bro☺️

a new step in steemit is really hard tapih kalu there soudara who has the heart kerendaha may not long to mendapa kemajua possible rapid with perseverance and fastness toward the success

@abdurrahman7 (36) yes one must have a strong heart and be able to tolerate the slings and arrows of pain and failure to reach any height of success on any in any field and so I salute you my friend and walk a mile with you to the well of plenty πŸ°πŸš€πŸŽΆπŸ₯‚

!WRM! Any text ☺️

@luiscordon (12) thanks for your comment though I'm not sure what it means is that a wallet address?

He is a spammer and scammer

@zenkly (59) Perhaps I could have understood that by his reputation score is that correct?

Yes, If someone is below 25, possibly because they have given him flags for bad behavior in steemit

@zenkly (59) Thanks ☺️

@zenkly (59) one more question, I've noticed that when I go to my wallet my reputation says 25 and not 40 like it is on my blog. Is there a reason for this? Thank you for your help smiles

That is not more than a bug. You do not have to worry about it.
