Teardrops For My Dog That Saved My Life also SWC

I don't know if this could fit the category of @jerrybanfield's Supernatural Writing Contest. But since this is my second article, I will just try. Who knows it might.
They say animals especially dogs are sensitive to their surroundings. They say they can feel what will happen before it happens. I have seen videos where the animals flee first before an earthquake or other disaster happens.
Dogs especially if they are close to you can feel what you feel. They can feel your sadness and they can feel your happiness. They know if you are angry or just teasing.
I am a dog lover and had many dogs. Some were very close to me and some are just around the house. I have never experienced any unusual behavior from them. Oh they would know I am sad and would come and stay by my side. They would allow me to stroke them or pet them till I feel better. They would sometimes lick me and play with me.

But there was one dog. Nothing really special except we thought she would be a small breed but grew fast into a medium size dog.

This is or was Chanel. Someone came to my house with a case with puppies. I opened the cage and said the first puppy out, I will buy. He did not know the breed but said maybe a small breed because they were small. She was about 2 -3 months old here

So Chanel came out first and I took her. She was adorable and easy to train. She loved to sleep on her bed but half-way under our bed. Sometimes she sleeps with me.

See after 1 month she got bigger and longer than her cooling pad. But she still slept on the bed, at the foot of the bed. Of all the dogs she would know where to go to relieve herself, which is always outside. So when I wake up I have to let her out right away.

Look how big she got at probably 6 mos. A this size she would sleep on the floor beside my bed. She was ok with that. Until 2011 someone gave me another puppy. I did not put Chanel out but she decided to sleep in the living room, just outside my room. During the day she would come inside and just lay by my feet while I am at the computer.. If I am outside she would also stay by me.

My dog that was given to me had puppies late 2011. So Chanel stayed outside.

I remember sometime mid 2011, I was still young haha. I had a hard tome sleeping then. I would stay late on the computer or TV. So I would usually fall asleep around 12 midnight to 1 am, Even then my sleep was kind of restless. Back then i lacked sleep. I would wake up early n matter what time I slept.

There was one day where things was not going well. I had so much stress and even a melt down. Of all my dogs new and old only Chanel was there quiet and looking at me with her big brown eyes.

That night everyone went to sleep early. I slepp in the same room with my mom because she needs watching. I even called Chanel if she wanted to come in. She just came close to me so I stroked her head and she went to the chair that she sleeps in.

So I closed the door, turned off the lights except for a night light, the bathroom light. I turned on the TV set the "sleep mode " for an hour. I guess I slept but I was dreaming

My stress and frustrations came in the dream. I remember I was talking to someone that I was going to jump off the roof. People were trying to talk to me. I felt myself fall slowly. But in the background I heard scratching noises. I tried to ignore. Still falling, waiting to hit the ground when suddenly the scratching got louder and I heard a bark. 2 barks and it woke me up. I felt groggy and light headed. I did not get up right away, I was trying to sort out myself. Then I heard the scratches again, the sound when a dog is wanting to come inside the room. Then a small bark. So I slowly got up, turned on the lights and opened the door. There was Chanel, she gave a soft bark and wagged her tail. I asked if she wanted water because there was a water bowl in the room. She just looked at me and licked my hand and just went back to her place.

I only realized it the next day that if I fell and hit the ground I might have died in my sleep. Chanel woke me up. The next day I gave her an extra treat.

This is the last picture I got of her in 2012. She is kind of skinny here because she just gave birth. It was sad that all the other small breed dogs were probably jealous of her and they would run her out. So then she would sleep in the balcony and became the guard dog of the house. During the day she would find a quiet place and sleep so at night she would watch. She never retaliated to the other dogs. But she would always come to me when I call her when I got out. When she is with me the other dogs stay away.

She had her full vaccination when she was small and every year she got her anti-rabies shot along with the others. She died late 2015. We never knew until the father of my helper wondered why she did not come when he called her for mealtime. She would always come running with he puppy. Those 2 were the ones who watched our compound and people would be scared to come. We found her under a tree looking like she was just sleeping. More #teardrops for her.

This is her puppy Shane also a female. When Chanel died in 2015, she became moody and quiet. But she was still around watching the house and compound. She would come when called for meal time. I guess she missed her mom that she also died late 2016. Same scenario, she did not come when called. Like her mom, we found her under a tree, just lying down, looked like she was sleeping. Not the same tree but near where her mom died.

Even as I type this I miss Chanel. #Tears are welling in my eyes. This could also be #teardrops for a loyal and well-loved dog. I am ever so grateful to Chanel for giving me another chance in life. She was always so quiet and unassuming, yet watchful. On time I noticed that she was watching the front gate closely, just lying down at the stairs at night. She could not be seen. I was watching at the bedroom window because I heard some noise. I saw a guy trying the gates and was almost over it. I was to scared to react but then as he was about to jump in, Chanel came running and barking and Shane followed. Whoo that was the fastest I have seen a person climb back up and runaway. I told my helpers and they laughed. I guess now people know that we have dogs roaming around so they do not dare try to come in, they are afraid to get rabies even if my dogs are all clean.

These are #teardrops for my beloved dog Chanel and Shane. I know that you are all happy and waiting at the Rainbow Bridge with my other pets. Waiting for the time we will be together again. (tears are falling from my eyes now) I love you both and miss you.

I was moved by this post. I am also a mommy of 7 puppies. It really takes good courage to be a good pet owner. They will be the most loyal creature that we will have. They will never betray and turn their back on us. One of my cute puppy is saying hi to you and your dog! :) btw, this is Jamjam, I would just like to share, I lost him for two weeks but I did my best to find him and bring him back home. And thank God, we had him back.

Pet and owner love stories are always the real and inspiring one.
