Man, I think it took a lot of courage to weigh in on this topic, and I appreciate your perspective. You seem to do a lot of leading by example and it definitely pushes me out of my comfort zone, which is a good thing, if we intend to grow as people.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you didn't really say you want to be Jerry B, or even be "like" Jerry, but your own version of "A Jerry Banfield". This may be seen as splitting hairs to some, but I took it to mean someone with influence and something of an unfiltered approach to speaking your mind. Except with more tact. And probably, based on your criticism of Jerry, more strategic action.
There is a lot to learn from the people in our community that have experience and power. Not all of it is good, and it's a challenge to figure out how to engage constructively.
One of the things I find really encouraging and healthy about this platform, is that it is a potentially vibrant place to speak your mind. Hopefully we can continue the spirit of meaningful debate, learning what we can from others, and all grow stronger as a community.
I am very much inclined to just not say anything, it would be obviously safer. Since that wouldn't do anybody any good, I thought I should venture out and speak. I appreciate you leading the way, a lot.
You are completely correct.
This was my attempt to engage constructively ;)
Ahmen
I appreciate you watching my back.
Always really good to read your comments, need to get you writing more often ;)
Thanks for venturing out, at least I know you clearly heard my message ;)
