RE: Signs and Warning of the Second Coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ

in #jesus7 years ago

When I read from Matthew 24:3, I see Christ's disciples NOT asking him for "SIGNS" of his coming and the end of the age, but "THE SIGN" (a single event) that would. It also seems to me that the events he outlined at Matthew 24:4-8 are only the "beginning of birth pains" and not signals of the end as Jesus says there. I see at Matthew 24:30 the answer to the disciple's questions at Matthew 24:3. Jesus mentions "The Sign" (a single event) occurring in heaven (not occurring on earth). The sign mentioned at Matthew 24:30 is also seen at Revelation 12:1. So, it is misleading to speak of "signs" (plural) as indicators of Christ's return. At Matthew 24:42 Jesus said that we do not know when he returns. So any supposed sign or signs seen on earth would basically say that one knows when he returns. That "The Sign" is seen in heaven, that is, seen by only those who reside in heaven makes sense because that sign would not be seen by anyone earth. No human can see within the abode of The Most High God and this is keeping in line with what Jesus said at Matthew 24:42. (See Acts 1:7)
