I got to train with one of the guys that I am help them with their Jiu-Jitsu.

He has hit a plateau and has not been making much progress in the last couple months because every time we train he turns it into a fight using the things that he got better at, and stuff he sees on YouTube.

I told him that if he goes hard and/or doesn't use what we work on I am not going to let him settle in and I am going to pick it up.

Right off the bat he starts going hard so I turned it up and went hard and he got subbed twice in under a minute. He was shocked. I asked him if he is learning anything from that and he said no.

So I told him unless he dials it back and works on what we are working on it is going to be that over and over.

He did and I slowed it down and he did really well. I told him to video it.

Then he said "but I am moving so slow."

I told him to look at the video and he was shocked at the speed and the smoothness at which he was moving.

When we finished the session he was dead tired.

Hello! Many guys think when they plateau, they should go harder and faster but the reality is to really tune down and hit the details. This often ends in unwanted injuries. I am very like you, I like to keep a matching pace so that i can work on stuffs while keeping the game real. Nice share man!

thanks for the comment. he said he really benefited from the session.
