First of all, your posting style is remarkable and it is clear to see that you have been around the blog (hue) a bit longer than I am. I will take a look at MarkdownPad as you suggested, maybe it will do me some good.
That aside, I very much like the overall topic of this post and I know that I will be reading it more than just this once. Fun fact:
