This is How K-pop Idol Fans Celebrating Their Idols' Birthdays
Have you ever seen this kind of advertisement at the subway station?
This is a public birthday advertising of k-pop idol.
Birthday advertising started for celebrating idol's birthday from their fans, and in recent years, it has been extended to as well as subway billboards, movie theaters, cafe pager, limousine buses, and YouTube advertisements etc.
Cafe pager advertising
Youtube advertising
Most of the idol birthday ads are made through the advertising agency. The advertising industry is paying attention to this as one market. According to the advertising industry, it has expanded by foreign fans' participation. More than 50% of the request is from foreign fans' these days, especially Chinese fandom is the biggest client.
Recently, Tzuyu who is a member of the K-pop girl group Twice, her birthday ad was on Times Square building in New York by her Chinese fan. The billboard advertisement of Times Square which is mainly advertising from a big company such as Samsung or Apple is $100,000 a day.
JYP Entertainment, which Twice’s agency, says that it does not accept such as gifts and money other than hand letters. Because of that, fans are giving gifts to idols by indirect means such as advertising or donations.
I have not really been into K-pop idol so far, so it's a bit difficult to understand their culture. But for fans, Idol's birthday is only once a year so it’s like a holiday. I think it's fascinating that K-pop fans are celebrating their idols birthday in this way!
What do you guys think about this?

Very interesting, didn't know about this and thanks for the great info. It's good for business I guess :D
Actually feels like it makes perfect sense than putting up anything else in public adspace, since K-pop is obviously very huge over there!
Hey, @kevinwong :) I'm glad you enjoyed my post. I hope that there are the fans spending money on Steemit for the birthday ads in the future! ;)
Do you have an agency that pays you to travel or market products? You seem like you would be very good at it if you are not already doing it.
@quinneaker Noooo, so far nobody asked me to do that ;)Do you think somebody asks me to do that in the future? Actually, I've never thought about that! It would be cool but I'm not sure if it's going to be fun... hahaha just in my imagination ;)
Yes I think you are well suited for it. I can see that happening.
Consider if you would really like to do that or not. Let me know.
~~💖~~
You can most definitely do this. It's called blog sponsorship. You have good posts and good reach. You would not need to use an agency unless you want to. Start with products, hotel, restaurants, and services you already use. Write to the brand or go in person and offer to accept sponsorship.
A lot of travel and fashion bloggers do this very successfully. You can see it on you tube also with some of the "unboxing" type posts.
You can have the same result with affiliate links. Talk about a product in your blog - link to it where it can be purchased and then you make money in commission when people buy. You just have to disclose your links so people know and that's it.
I'm barely started here and get good traffic when I post links like that compared to other places. I'm sure you would do well with it.
Cheer Up! 와우! 정말 많은 사람들이 이 포스팅에 많이 투표했어요! 우리 앞으로도 힘내봐요!
hehehe i guess if that is how they want to spend their money. I wouldn't want too.
my idols all ready have way better birthdays than me, i'm sure

It's very interesting to see how K-pop fans celebrate their Idols birthdays, I have seen so many different examples of these things. I know a good bit of fan clubs will arrange stuff like that. Have you seen some for group anniversaries? Time square was used I think twice last year for some big groups to celebrate their anniversaries. That place is so expensive and yet fans arranged it. You should check them out. I believe it was for BTS and EXO (huge groups) and their fans had the screens showing clips and pics of them like all day. I would never personally spend my money that way, but that's just me. It's interesting to see how others see it.
@topkpop I agree with you! I rather spend my money on Steem>_< But I think it's really unique and fun culture ;)

interesting culture
A couple of years ago I was in Seoul and busking with some dancers at Hong Dae.
K-pop is WILD man. When they danced, the girls would gather and literally SCREAM.
I heard a lot about K-Pop in the near past.
This music culture is coming stronger to Europe/Austria.
But I never expected such a big wave when its someone's birthday.
This is something new to me. I never thought that the fans can be so loyal and are willing to spend so much money for their idol's birthday.
Oh, I am now surprised to learn that you are not into Kpop idols so far. May I know why?
@horazwiwik Maybe I'm too old to like idols... hahaha
Ahahahaha....that makes sense @ramengirl
cute
how famous is Tzuyu in Korea?
Good

@ramengirl Thanks for your work as well!
I recently got to know about this too. In fact, I wrote a post about when Kang Daniel's fan did it for his birthday.

Kpop fans even donated to a charity that he has shown support towards for his birthday.
