Sarova Whitesword of Sindan
“Mylady. Hold it there for a moment”.
Marelle raises her hand. Further down the corridor, Sarova Whitesword is startled, and she quickly ducks behind one of the pillars in the corridor. Without hesitation Captain Marelle hurls her sword towards the corridor.
As the purple Belovian weapon takes flight, it gathers momentum and energy, and crashes straight through the row of stone pillars that separate Sarova from her adversary. Sarova quickly dives to the other side of the corridor, and narrowly evades the weapon, which loudly crashes through the pillars until it slams into the wall at the end of the corridor.
Rastanna looks down the corridor with surprise: “That is an excellent spot, Captain. I will leave you two to it, and will proceed with the transaction once you have finished.”
Marelle quickly runs into the vault, and grabs more Belovian weapon. Meanwhile, Sarova is in desperation: Should she flee at this stage? Sindan will surely be doomed if she fails to return, but right now her goal is far from accomplished and there is no point in laying low any longer. But then, as Marelle is about to hurl the second sword, she comes up with a plan.
Captain Marelle, wielding Belovian weapons without special gloves
Soon after, Captain Marelle hurls several Belovian daggers down the corridor. Sarova manages to dodge most of them by rolling and jumping across the corridor, although one of them grazes her ankle, leaving a purple-coloured cut of about a centimeter deep. However, at that point, Marelle charges down the corridor in blind rage, followed by six of her servants.
Sarova quickly runs towards the end of the corridor, and hides behind the last pillar, which has partially collapsed. She concentrates deeply on her fingertips as Marelle approaches, opening an alcove in the wall, stepping inside of it and closing it.
As Marelle reaches the end of the corridor, she comes to a halt.
“You filthy spy! Think you get away by hiding in the stonework? Do you know who you are facing here?!”
Facing the section of wall behind the pillar, Marelle starts hacking away bits of stone with her Belovian sword. But meanwhile Sarova remains deeply focused.
Inside that wall, outside of the immediate focus of Sarova, the stones begin to twist and turn. Soon after, the Belovian weapons stuck in that wall reverse direction, pointing with their blades outwards into the corridor.
As Marelle hacks on with her Belovian blade, she reaches an opening, and catches a glimpse of Sarova.
“Now I’ve got you!”
At that point Sarova’s fingertips, which were already flowing, begin to burn intensely, as the far stone wall of the corridor rapidly slides towards Captain Marelle, with its Belovian blades pointed towards her.
“What–?”
Marelle fails to evade the sliding wall. Impaled by half a dozen Belovian blades along with impact of the stone wall itself, she rolls and bounces across the corridor, and eventually collapses on the ground.
The servants look at their captain in fear and astonishment, but are relieved when they notice the shifting wall halting just in front of them.
“Who was that?”, one of them wonders out loud.
The other servant looks at Captain Marelle, who lies motionlessly on the ground, bleeding profusely.
"Whoever it was, we don't have time for her. Come quickly, help me bring her to the medical ward!"
In the meantime, Sarova’s ankle wound is proving to be a nuisance, but she slowly shifts herself through the stone walls towards the vault. Using her concentration and the organs in her fingertips, she create a tiny opening between her personal moving alcove, and the vault itself.
Just as I had hoped!, she thinks by herself, as the vault is left entirely unattended so shortly after the battle. She grows the hole in the wall using her fingers, and quickly jumps into the vault. Several pairs of gloves are scattered on the ground, along with a bag filled with Belovian daggers. She quickly grabs the gloves, puts two of them on, and stashes the others into the bag filled with daggers.
As she tries to open a new hole in the wall, she realizes that the organs in her fingertips. Either the gloves are preventing her from using them, or she has exhausted her powers amidst all this tumult.
Fabulous!, she ponders sarcastically.
At that point she quickly dashes for the vault door and runs for the exit of the castle, the old fashioned way…
