I love mornings. I like the quiet, the space, the sense of privacy.
I also love my morning COFFEE!! Yes, I'm an addict, but in the best way possible. Some mornings, I also eat breakfast--but not all; sometimes I like to save my carbs for a dish I have planned for later in the evening, and sometimes, I'm just not hungry at all.
However, this morning, I was indeed hungry and I knew that my fare later today would be quite light--especially in terms of carbs. Sooooo, I had one of my go-to breakfasts: sausage links, fried eggs and low-carb toast. Yes, you heard right: low-carb toast. Check out the pulchritude down below:
The toast is 5.5 net carbs per slice, which I admit is a bit high for a single meal, but given that none of the other components have carbs, AND given that I've already planned my eating for the day around this indulgence, I'm good. It was SO worth it to have crunchy, munchy, buttery toast. Yes, REAL butter on toast.
As I said, I know that it was a bit expensive in terms of carbs, but in terms of what it got me, it was a real bargain. It made me feel normal, without limits. I wasn't having a low-carb breakfast--I was just having breakfast.
