Today, I tried my hand at making keto bagels. OMG! These are so good and easy to make. I made some homemade strawberry preserves to go with them. Here's the recipe that I used for the bagels, https://pinterest.com/pin/532128512214971623/?source_app=android
Strawberry Preserves:
2 cups of frozen strawberries
1/3 c water
I/3 c sweetener (I use powered eryithoil)
1 tsp pectin
Add all first 3 ingredients to a medium saucepan and bring to a rolling boil, lower heat, add pectin and stir, skim foam off the top and, let reduce by half. Store in refrigerator in a mason jar. Give them a try and leave me a picture in the comments.
I've been looking for a bagel recipe... Do these toast well? How close are they to "real" bagels?
Yes they toast well. I put a little butter in a pan, slice them and toast them up. They are thick like a bagel, next time I'll use less cheese but overall, they are a winner. π
Keto begal. Interesting. But I don't think it fits the keto diet as the begal literally filled with carbs despite it named low carb. regardless, have fun staying. Looking forward on your future sharing.
@davidke20 it is low carb keto approved. If you read the recipe, you'll see that it's made with almond flour, the reason we call it a bagel is because of the shape and texture. Thanks for the comment.
