Top 10 safety tips that your children must be aware of!
Take a quick moment and try to remember of you ever had a conversation like this with your children.
Only parents can inform their kids and teach them about safety. And if your child is properly informed it will keep him/her safe in our big and sometimes dangerous world.
These things that seem so simple for us are very important and sometimes hard to understand for kids. So please put some time and effort into making sure they are well informed!
1)If somebody is standing uncomfortably close to you.
Whether it is public transport or waiting in a line of a shop - if somebody stands so close to you that it makes you feel uncomfortable, don't put up with it, just say out loud: "Please keep some distance! I need more space!".
You always have the right for personal space!
2)Somebody keeps following you on the street.
If it is clear that somebody is following you on the street, if he stops where you stop, etc. Try to stay in crowded places and when presented with the opportunity loudly ask that person to stop following you. Remember, there is no shame in being concerned about your own safety.
3)Somebody stole your things and ran away.
Sure, those things might be important for you, but remember that running after the thief may be dangerous. You can scream out loud: "Give it back! It's mine! Somebody help!" and ask help from people around you.
Remember that you are more important than your things.
4)If somebody strikes up an intimate an uncomfortable conversation with you.
If somebody offers or to show you intimate photos/videos that you feel uncomfortable watching or starts touching you and tells you keep it a secret, you should say no to all of that and stay away from that person! Also don't keep it a secret! As soon as possible tell your parents about this and do not worry as nobody will judge you for this.
5)There are situations when you must not wait for your parents to be back.
If your parents left you alone in a public place for little while and said they would be back. Suddenly an emergency happened and everyone started evacuating, you must not wait until yours parents are back. Go with along with others to safety and wait for your parents there.
Remember - safety first.
6)You must not do what others tell you just because they are nice to you!
If somebody seems really nice and friendly but asks you to do something that you are uncomfortable doing, always feel free to say not. And let your parents know about this.
7)If you don't like/are not in the mood for hugs and kisses from your friends or relatives.
If you don't like or are not in the mood for hugs and kisses from your relatives don't put up with it! Just let them know that you are not comfortable with them doing it right now and it doesn't matter who the person is, you shout not be forced into this.
8)You promised to keep a secret but it threatens someone's safety.
If you promised to keep a secret but it threatens someone's safety you should let your parents know. If you are in a dangerous situation you can of course promise that you will keep this a secret, but when you are safe - tell it to yours parents about this.
9)Do not be ashamed.
Remember - you should not feel ashamed in a dangerous situation! Run, scream, ask people for help, do everything to ensure your safety!
10)If you are unsure whether you are in danger or not.
If you are unsure whether you are in danger or not, but the situation you are in just doesn't feel right. Follow the instruction above don't be afraid that someone will look at you the wrong way! Remember - your safety comes first.
