Annotated Cityscape in silhouette.
I have annotated my image of the St. Louis skyline with the significant structures' height and estimated distance from my camera. I was much closer to the city than in previous articles, this time about 3 miles closer. So, while the angular diameter of the sun does not change, the city structures are much closer and appear to make the sun smaller in scale.
My position in alignment with the city street grid made it possible to capture the light passing between the columns on top of the Civil Courts building. This building has an architecturally interesting top that can be seen clearly in the historical photo below.

Nice photo and welcome to steemit!
steemSTEM is the abbreviation for: science, tech, engineering and math.
It would be probably better to replace it with the cityscapephotography because it's one of the tags for photocontest
Cheers!
I appreciate your comment Alex, this tag is appropriate because of the engineering involved in my location mapping and preparation for these captures because I am aligning the sunset with the monument from 6 to 9 miles away and have to know the location about an hour before the sun sets. I labeled the image and presented it first in this article to highlight my research work.
I am not interested in competing in the photography contests, though I do like to get the exposure. (pun)
I presented my work in a previous article here; https://steemit.com/my2018/@bcuda69/my-2018-this-is-my-hobby-astro-cityscape-photography The tag was suggested by @bashadow in the comments to that article.
Cheers @alexs1320
I like photography, you got my upvote :) (sorry for the small upvote, my power is running low)
