I don't expect my opinion to change anything, I'm not advocating a political philosophy, nor do I want to tell you what to do.
Please excuse the bunnies, they're just here to get a little attention. Aren't they lovely?
A round of applause for the bunnies. Hoorah.
I'd just like to say my favourite way to curate.
Be kind
There seem to be a lot of posts with the general message:
"If you don't like how curation is being done, shove it! RARARARARARCapitalism!"
You know what I have to say to that?
a) Rude!
and
b) Mean!
My favourite author Roald Dahl once said
“I think probably kindness is my number one attribute in a human being. I’ll put it before any of the things like courage or bravery or generosity or anything else.”
Or brains even?
“Oh, gosh, yes, brains are one of the least. You can be a lovely person without brains, absolutely lovely. Kindness- that simple word. To be kind- it covers everything in my mind.
If you’re kind that’s it."
Stay strong, you're half way through
If I'm given the choice between two equally good posts, I choose the poster who is in the greatest need.
This isn't because I'm indoctrinated in any particular philosophy, it's simply that I gain more satisfaction knowing I made a difference in someone's day.
My upvote is only worth about 5c, but I've seen that can be enough to encourage and bring attention to a poster that's about to give up.
Take @kryptik for example, he had a post about 5 hours in, that only had $0.06. I doubled it to $0.12, and by the end of the day that post was trending.
I don't know if it was my upvote that ultimately helped, but he continues to be an excellent author, and I certainly got a buzz out of seeing him succeed.
Then there was this excellent post of a mother taking photos of her daughter feeding humming birds: https://steemit.com/photography/@eileenbeach/hand-feeding-hummingbirds
With help from @tuck-fheman that post went from ignored to over $250. The thought of those two celebrating in wonderment made my day. Perhaps they fed the hummingbirds a little champagne? :)
I'll leave you with a fantastic video by Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.

Cleverness is a gift, kindness is a choice.
Perhaps this is an important message for Steemit, a place with no lack of intelligence that could use a little kindness.
Now who's up for a drink?
Kindness is the way forward. If you are not kind... Why bother?
Nice post
Every ones content is worthy if you put effort in it. Keep it up!
Just happened the whales saw it! Hope yours too! Happy Steeming!
There's nothing wrong with being kind.

He looks a little bit like Quentin Tarantino.
Wow guys, thanks for the upvotes. Was not expecting that!
kindness it is...
love those bunnies. very creative
I really like the way you write! and your point and the bunnies haha
Nice post! I happen to agree, kindness is a choice...and a good one!
Excellent post, and I agree. Kindness is important, and we see so little of it in the world, that it's almost like finding a gold nugget when we come across it. It costs nothing to be kind, it takes nothing away from you to show kindness to others, so why not do it? Kindness is a big part of my personal philosophy. Thank you for highlighting the need for more of it here.
Common sense! (But not to all)
