Kipon 12mm F2.8 for Fujifilm X attack: new details

in #kipon6 years ago

Often, third-party lenses are released for different cameras, but it's not so common for Fujifilm with X attack. One of the recent exceptions is the Kipon 12 mm F2.8, which will arrive only in September 2019 and is designed for APS-C cameras, however.

In these hours, the manufacturer released new technical information for the Kipon 12 mm F2.8 pending actual market availability. The optical design is of German origin and is made by IB / E Optics more accurately.

The Kipon 12 mm F2.8 has a structure with twelve elements divided into nine groups while the diaphragm can count on seven blades allowing a maximum f/2.8 aperture and a minimum f/22 aperture. This allows you to get a good effect of bokeh but also to shoot in macro mode. The minimum distance of focus is 15 cm.

We remember that there is a motivation with X attack for which there are few Fujifilm lenses. The "fault" is with the Japanese company that makes the creation of new models difficult for third-party optical manufacturers. As stated in a recent interview with Sigma, the camera manufacturer does not share essential information for target development by forcing other companies to use more time and financial resources to reverse engineer (make this option useless).
