The Pilot
Clouds above and bushes below were all I was able to see through the window. I wasn't sure how much time had passed. The scenery still hadn't changed, and I began doubting the plane was even moving.
I looked around one more time, and there were no other passengers. I recalled how the ladies who had handled my ticket had disappeared into thin air. And the plane was also empty. What was going on?
"I-is anyone here?" I asked shakily.
The only response was the sound of the engines. I began getting scared. I started to think that I was going crazy, or that it was just a weird dream. So, I took a deep breath and pinched myself.
"Ouch!" It hurt. I didn't wake up. And no one reacted to my shout, either, because no one was there.
My panic increased each second, until I couldn't take it anymore and ignored the warnings about wearing the seat belt. I removed the belt and made my way in the cockpit's direction.
"Is anyone here!?" I asked again, dreading that my response would only be silence.
"Yes." It was the pilot's voice, much to my surprise. I startled when the cockpit opened on its own, but the pilot was there! The plane wasn't totally empty!
"Oh, what a relief," I said with a sigh. "Um, so, where is this plane going?"
"It's up to you. Follow your true dreams. Good luck with your discoveries, future explorer."
Much to my shock, the pilot, too, vanished into thin air. And then, my first "discovery" was that no one was piloting the plane anymore, and now I was really, really alone...
