A while ago i discovered this amazing website where you can actually read over 60.000 e-books for free.
It is called www.gutenberg.org which is quite appropriately as it use the name of Johannes Gutenberg the guy who introduced book printing in Europe.
About Project Gutenberg
Project Gutenberg is an online library of free eBooks.
Project Gutenberg was the first provider of free electronic books, or eBooks. Michael Hart, founder of Project Gutenberg, invented eBooks in 1971 and his memory continues to inspire the creation of eBooks and related content today.
You can´t find newer books here but you will find a wide range of classics like Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka
Or The Trial by Franz Kafka (which is one of my favorites)
you also find some basic information to each book
Another classic you can find here is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
As well as
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald,
"The Kingdom of God Is Within You" by graf Leo Tolstoy
Frankenstein; Or, The Modern Prometheus by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley
