So for the final installment of this series I'm going to cover our trip to The Third Infiltration Tunnel and Dorasan Station.
Now before going to the Third Infiltration Tunnel I have to apologize. We can only take photos of the outside, no photos are allowed of the actual tunnel itself, which is a shame.
The Third Infiltration Tunnel referred from now on as The Tunnel was a series of tunnels created by North Korea to be used as an underground conduit for soldiers to launch a surprise attack on South Korea if war broke out. The tunnels were discovered, or at least some of them were discovered, and are now part of a museum exhibit. The photos below show the exterior of the park.

Below is the DMZ sign everyone sees at the park.
Next up is the Muryangusujeon Buddhist Temple. Basically this temple serves as a symbolic reminder of the painful division of the Korean Peninsula. Below is a information sign along with a photo of the peace bell.
Now below that is a sculpture showing people pushing a divided world together in order to create a complete Korea.

Now after everyone had a chance to go into the tunnel we packed up in the bus and went over to Dorasan Station.
So what is Dorasan Station? Dorasan Station was opened in 2002 as a symbolic gesture towards unification. The Station does work. but it sees very limited use, even though is maintained by a full time staff.
The two exterior shots show the official Dorasan Station sign, and it's official route.
The picture below is two MPs on patrol. Their uniforms are more old school, with the white tassels and such, compared to American Army MPs.
These photos show the possibly unused train stop.
Now the next set of photos will show the interior of the station. It's a fairly large station with a gift shop/snack stand along with the usual things you'd find at a train station, except passengers...
Here you can see some artwork themed around the two Koreas, and desire for unification.
This sign commemorates the opening of the station and President George Bush's visit.
So that's it. After viewing the station it was time to go back to Seoul. Like I said before I've been here before, but now was a chance share this interesting place with everyone else.
