Kdrama has become a fad among Filipino women of various ages. My co-teachers, my students, my sisters are definitely into korean drama.
At present, I am currently watching a 2017 South Korean TV series about predictive dreams of three people - friends - who were all born in 1982. The cop, the TV reporter and the prosecutor were all led down a merry chase as they try to prevent some of the ugly dream scenarios from coming true.
The series was directed by Oh Choong-hwan and written by Park Hye-ryun. It was starred by Lee Jong-suk (the prosecutor Jung Jae-Chan), Bae Suzy ( the TV reporter Nam Hong-joo), Lee Sang-yeob, Jung Hae-in( the police officer Han Wo0-tak).
The series opened with a surreal dream scenario where Hong-joo hugged Jae-Chan who had blood on his head...and then she wakes up and we find out that she does not really know the guy...yet. Then later, Jae-Chan and his brother actually moved into the house across the street... little did she know how much he has affected her past and how he will change her future.
What I love about South Korean TV series is the depth they give to each of the characters, scenes and settings. I love their attention to detail and how much they focus on the lives of each of the characters. The plot is beautifully and intricately driven and nothing feels awkward or forced - it's just life naturally pouring out of your TV screen.
I will be finishing this series soon. It's a thrilling look into the life of professionals like lawyers, prosecutors, police officers and TV reporters...and how people can sometimes manipulate good things to look bad and bad things to look good. And how an unsuspecting person can be an agent of that manipulation.
This series taught me it is always good to be aware of the people you are with and to carefully do only what is right.Because doing the wrong thing, no matter how trivial it is, will always leave an impact.
