SM Entertainment announced on the 7th that it will unveil an audition program for the launch of 'NCT-Hollywood', which will be active in the global music market, in partnership with Hollywood MGM, which produced famous American audition programs 'The Voice' and 'Survivor'.
According to SM, the program includes general producer Lee Soo-man, who has pioneered the globalization of K-pop for the past 30 years, and producer Mark Burnett, who directed 'The Voice' in the United States. This global audition is held to discover new members of NCT in Hollywood, USA. Any male between the ages of 13 and 25 in the world can apply, and the final selected participant will become a member of NCT-Hollywood to be launched in the future.
Through this project, SM plans to lead K-pop from Hollywood to the central culture of the United States with MGM. Producer Lee Soo-man said, "I am happy to be able to conduct a global audition project with Mark Burnett and MGM," and "I want to create a new type of audition program that music fans around the world can watch interestingly." He said, "We will produce so that participants with infinite potential can develop their capabilities as artists." Mark Burnett also said, “K-pop is a cultural phenomenon that has more than one genre of music,” and “I am very excited to be able to lead K-pop to the United States with producer Lee Soo-man and SM Entertainment.”
