이번 생일은 나에게 그 어느때보다 특별한 생일이다.
그 누군가에게 축하 받고자 하는 마음보다는 나에게 진심으로 축하받고 싶고 또 축하하고 싶은 오늘이다.
이제껏 타인에게 사랑받고 인정받고 축하받기 위하여 불안정하게 살아 왔다면, 이제는 안정되게 스스로가 인정하고 존중하며 그대로의 나 자신을 사랑할 수 있게 되었 음을 느낄 수 있다.온전히 내가 나를 존중하고 사랑할 수 있게 되었다는 것은, 더불어 내가 나 아닌것들을 온전하게 사랑할 수 있게 되었다는 것과 같다. 그러니 이 어찌 기쁘지 아니하고 축하하지 아니할 수 있겠는가?
비교하고 판단하고 복잡하고 무거운 사랑이 아닌, 단순하고 가볍고 즐겁게 그대로를 바라보고 인정할 수 있는 사랑을 품게 되었고, 나를 알게 되었다. 이대로의 나를 사랑한다.누가 뭐라하던 주어진 나의 삶을 사랑하고 나의 몸을 사랑하며 타고난 성격과 환경을 사랑한다.나와 전혀 다른 너를 사랑하고, 나 이외의 모든 생명들을 사랑한다.빛과 어둠과 삶과 죽음을 사랑하고, 하늘과 땅과 우주 만물을 사랑한다.이제서야 나는 내 안에서 사랑을 발견 하였고 사랑이 되었다.

즐겁고 기쁘게,

기쁨으로 축하한다.
다른 모든 생명들 처럼,
아름답고 사랑스러운
존재로서의 나를
사랑한다.♡
스스로에게 사랑을 품게 되니, 생일이 타인에 의한 선물과 축하로서의 일시적 기쁨이 아닌, 나라는 생명의 탄생에 대한 온전한 기쁨과 감사로서 다가온다. 오늘은 태어나 처음으로 스스로가 참된 기쁨으로 충만한 생일인 것이다. 옆집 사는 엄마는 늘 그러했듯 여전히 딸의 생일을 모르고 계시겠지만 이젠 조금의 서운함도 없다.
오늘 저녁엔 엄마가 좋아하시는 음식과 함께 둘러앉아 술한잔 해야지! 그리고 고통속에서 기쁘게 낳아주셔서 감사하다고 말해야지.😁
