We all need to pray about Korea. It is the focus with the Olympics and then the threat of North Korea is always a talking point.

We all want peace. It would be great to see Korea unified and all free with good government. This is something all desire.

Now here is the catch. Discernment and history proves North Korea is not interested in freedom or democracy.

Can they be trusted? Is this a tactic?

In my opinion North Korea is using the Olympics as a game. They want to deceive the world long enough to move their dictatorship along. You may disagree, but you have no supporting evidence.

Sending a delegate, setting up a meeting and sending athletes appear to be smoke and mirrors. Hope most watching don't fall in a web of deception. Seems NBC already has.

It is one thing to hope, but we have to be wise, not naive about this serious situation.

Praying for peace and unity to come in the orient.

Well, that was a really nice opening ceremony tonight. Of the East Asians in the ATL metro, a very large number of them are Koreans. Unlike the Japanese, whose media I grew up with, I know relatively little about Korea culturally or historically, and the unfortunate situation of north vs. south on the peninsula seems to overshadow everything else that could be positive. But a few hours watching the festivities made it easy to admire their nation as well.

Besides seeing a good games go down, I hope they highlight more about that country.
The decision for the Koreas to walk in as a unified team may not go beyond the gesture, but I hope it ramps down tensions, and leaves the sheltered North Koreans with something to think about, with the stark differences they see in the South.
