지난 번 포스팅에서 @gogumacat님의 대문 이미지 디자인 프롤로그를 썼는데요,
개인적인 귀차니즘(!)으로 인해 이제서야 디자인 작업에 들어가게 되었습니다. 흐흐..

Hi, this is @khm489.
In the prologue posting, I wrote about the design of @gogumacat 's thumbnail image,
and finally I started to design due to my laziness.

오늘은 그 첫 번째 시간으로, 디자인 준비 과정에 대해 포스팅하려 합니다.
전체적인 포스팅은 준비과정, 시각화, 피드백 순으로 진행되겠습니다.

Today, I'm gonna post about preparations for design.
The overall process will be preparation, visualization, and feedback.

저는 시각 디자인을 할 때 다음 요소들에 집중하는 편입니다.
I tend to focus on these things when I visually design something.

어떤 용도로 사용되는 디자인인가?
What is the purpose of this design?
무엇이 이 디자인에서 가장 강요되어야 하는가?
What should be mainly highlighted in this design?
이 디자인을 사용하는 사람은 어떤 사람인가?
Who is the user of this design?

위 질문들에 대해서 저는 다음과 같은 가이드라인을 만들고 작업했습니다.
Following to the above questions, I tried to follow design guidelines as follows:

용도에 맞는 사이즈, 비율을 확실히 지킬 것
Be sure to adjust the size and ratio of the image
강조할 것이 실제 사용시에 강조될 것
Highlight the things that should be highlighted in real use
사용자의 특색을 드러내며, 그가 만족할만한 디자인을 할 것
Express characteristics of user, and satisfy him(her).

이번 포스팅에서는 각각의 가이드라인에 대해 준비사항을 알아보도록 하겠습니다.
In this posting, I'll show you preparations for each guideline.

1. 용도에 맞는 사이즈, 비율 (Image size and ratio)

저는 사실 Steemit을 위한 대문 이미지 디자인은 처음이기에,
어떤 사이즈, 어떤 비율로 디자인해야 적합한지에 대한 지식이 없었습니다.
하지만 steemit의 검색 기능을 통해, 관련 정보를 쉽게 찾을 수 있었습니다.
A Tip for Steemit Header Image Size and a Good Thumbnail에 따르면,
Thumbnail image로서 800x480 사이즈 이미지를 사용할 것을 권하고 있음을 알 수 있습니다.

Frankly, it was my first time to design thumbnail image for steemit,
I knew nothing about the resolution and ratio of image that is perfectly fit.
However, I easily fond information from searching function of steemit.
Following to the A Tip for Steemit Header Image Size and a Good Thumbnail,
He recommends 800x480 as a thumbnail image for steemit.

2. 강조할 것 (Highlight)

이 디자인에서 가장 쉽게 결론이 난 부분입니다.
누가 뭐라 해도 @gogumacat님은 #kr-cat 카테고리를 살리기 위해 노력하는 집사시죠.
그의 두 마리 고양이, 고구마와 고등어를 집중해서 표현하기로 했습니다.

This part was one of the most part of my design.
@gogumacat is a cat-lover who really devote himself to activate #kr-cat category.
I decided to highlight his two cats - goguma and godeungeo.

3. 그의 특색 및 만족 (characteristics and satisfaction)

이 부분은 스포일러가 될 수 있기에 자세히 쓰지는 않겠습니다만,
@gogumacat님과 메신저로 디자인의 방향에 대해 논의를 진행했습니다.

I won't write about detail to avoid spoiler of design.
I discussed about the direction of design with @gogumacat through messenger.
