A Package From My Son

오늘 얼마 전 입대한 아들에게서 소포를 받았습니다.

매우 큰 박스에 들어 있어 놀랬지만

군에 간 아들이 보낸 것이라 반가운 마음으로

열어 보았죠. 아들의 겨울 잠바와 속옷, 신발까지

잘 개어져 있고 신발도 따로 작은 상자에

포장이 되어서 왔네요.

그리고 더 반가운 건 소포 안에 있는 아들의 편지였죠.

힘들지만 잘 견디고 있다고 하니

걱정이 되면서 안심도 됩니다.

얼마 전에는 다른 부대 훈련병들이 외출 했다가

사고를 당했다는 뉴스가 나왔는데

그런 뉴스를 접할 때마다 깜짝 깜짝 놀랜답니다.

아들이 무사히 군복무 마치고 온전하게

돌아오기를 간절히 바랍니다.

Received a package from my son, who entered

the army the other day.

Opened the package with pleasure even though

surprised that it was a big box.

From a winter jacket and a T-shirt to underwear and

a pair of sneakers, there were things of my

son's in it. There was also a letter written by my son,

which pleased me. It says that he is doing well though

he has a hard time adapting the army.

That made me worried but relieved at the same time.

A few days ago, several soldiers were said to be

badly injured while taking a bus back to their

company. Whenever hearing those kinds of bad news,

I get panicked. Hope he completes about two years of

his military service safely and comes back home

healthy.
