Lacrosse is a very small sport that is rapidly growing by the year. This game was founded by the Native Americans a long time ago. Lacrosse was believed to be the first sport ever played in the whole entire world
Another way to describe lacrosse is in which the ball is thrown, caught, and carried with a long-handled stick having a curved L-shaped or triangular frame at one end with a piece of shallow netting in the angle. Which this is closely related to hockey but u throw the ball instead of hit it on ice. This is sport is known to be one of the most contact sports in the world. There are two types of lacrosse there is field lacrosse which is on a football field is played with regular gear including helmet, shoulder/chest pad, elbow pads, gloves and of course a lacrosse stick. While box lacrosse is an indoor version of lacrosse played mostly in North America. The game originated in Canada in the 1930s where it is more popular than field lacrosse and is the national summer sport. The goals are much smaller and the goalies are much bigger so it is harder to play. While the best players in the world play in the MLL they can't just live off playing lacrosse. Since the MLL began in 1999 not a lot of people go to the games so they can't pay the players really anything. An average lacrosse makes about 10,000 to 20,000 dollars a year. Some players can get sponsorship which can boost there yearly income quite a bit. If you like contact sports and have extra time I suggest you pick up a stick and start playing. Lacrosse can help you with getting in shape and maybe a scholarship to your favorite college.
I play lacrosse. I'm a defensemen. If you interested just know its quite expensive gloves rand from $50 - $200. It is an extremely fun game though.
If you do end up playing you better get ready to run your legs off; getting the hang of catching and throwing is tough too.
