লাল মোহন খুবই স্বাদের মিষ্টি। এর স্বাদ এতটাই লোভনীয় যে বহু দূর থেকে মানুষ এর স্বাদ নিতে ছুটে আসে। বাংলাদেশ থেকে নেয়া রেসিপি দিয়ে এই মিষ্টি বানানো শুরু করেন শিলিগুড়ির ফুলবাড়ির মণীন্দ্রনাথ ঘোষ। ময়দার সাথে ছানা মেখে গোল বল করে তেলে ভেজে রসে ডুবিয়ে তৈরি করা হয় খানিকটা কালচে লাল রঙের লাল মোহন বা গোলাপজামুন। এই মিষ্টি উত্তরবঙ্গের অন্যতম মৌলিক মিষ্টি।
