Getafe - Leganés
A little Derbi from Madrid in the early kick off-game Sunday between two teams predicted to struggle in the bottom this season. This two teams has absolutely destroyed all predictions and delivered an amazing season. Getafe is right now place as number 9 at the table, while Leganés is number 11 and in the semi final in the Copa del Rey! Getafe have only lost one of the last five games they have played, and the same with Leganés!
Getafe got an impressive point away to Sevilla last weekend without Jorge Molina and Damián Suárez. Molina will be back for this game, and Löic Remy has also arrived on loan from Las Palmas. Leganés could potentially miss Rubén Pérez, Dimitrios Siovas, Mauro Dos Santos and Szymanowski this game, but nothing confirmed because their squad is released.
I like this game to be honest, and quite a nice Derbi from Madrid starting the day should be nice. I have Getafe as small favorites just because Leganés is right now playing many matches with a small squad, and Getafe has been really impressive at home this season. Getafe to win for me.
Espanyol - Barcelona
The Derbi continues with Derbi Barceloní. They met each other in the quarter final of Copa del Rey where Espanyol was knocked out by the big brother from Barcelona. Espanyol have three losses in a row including two in La Liga. Despite of that I can see a bit of progression in the team, but in this game it will be almost impossible to get something even though they won here in the cup. Barcelona is maybe not that impressive in the last weeks as they have been with «just» winning 2-0, 2-1 and 1-0 in the last three games. Messi is just unstoppable and the same with Luis Suárez including Samuel Umtiti outstanding at the back.
Good for this Derbi it’s almost nothing to write about injuries, and Thomas Vermaelen and Ousmane Dembélé are the only players still missing.
I can’t see another than a Barca-win here, but maybe not a big win. 2-0 perhaps?
Girona - Athletic Club
Number ten in LaLiga, three games unbeaten and things are looking good for Girona in their first ever season. Played a not impressive match against Málaga away last weekend, but got a point which is good. Now they will be playing an unbeaten team in the last ten games that despite of that hasn’t impressed me very much. Just three wins out of that doesn’t make things that much better, and is it possible to sack a manager with an unbeaten run like that? I don’t know, but maybe they should to progress even more.
Girona will have everyone available in this game, and this could be a debut for Iñigo Martínez who has replaced Aymeric Laporte that left for Manchester City. De Marcos, Kepa and Iker Muniain will probably miss this game too, but hopefully everyone will be fit soon.
A very hard game to predict, but maybe a draw in a very even game with two sides losing very rare. 1-1?
Atlético Madrid - Valencia
PARTIDAZO! The big game of the weekend between number two and three. Los Rojiblancos got a win against Las Palmas last weekend as you could expect, but Los Che lost at home against Real Madrid in a nightmare for right back Martin Montoya. Making two penalties didn’t make things much easier for Valencia, and Real Madrid won the game 4-1 in the end in a disappoint match for the home side.
Finally Diego Costa will be back for Atlético again after his hamstring injury, and the same with Vrsaljko. The only one missing will still be the Brazilian left back Filipe Luis with Augusto saying his goodbye this week moving to China. Things didn’t get any better for Valencia, when Guedes got injured against Real Madrid and probably will be out for some weeks. Luckily and finally Carlos Soler is back, and started in their 1-0 loss at Camp Nou, Thursday. Jeison Murillo will also still be out with injury, and Luciano Vietto will not be able to play against his owner club.
I don’t think things will be easy here, but I will have Atlético to win this because of Valencia a bit disappointing the last weeks and missing Guedes, playing away etc. Cholo Simeone to beat Marcelino.
Las Palmas - Málaga
The final game of the weekend will be a huge relegation-match with the team placed as number 19 against number 20. Las Palmas lost yet again as expected away to Atlético while Málaga got their consecutive draw against Girona. I don’t understand how any of this teams can survive, but the looser here will definitely be gone I think.
Under their new manager José González, Málaga has looked a bit better defensively, but that shouldn’t be enough. Here they are meeting a complete different side awful in defense, but not that bad offensively.
It’s not to much change on the injury part either as Momo, Bigas and Michel Macedo should be out for Las Palmas, while Miguel Torres, Diego Rolán, Peñaranda, Juankar and the new signing Isaac Success could be out for the away side.
I don’t how any idea how this game will turn out. Maybe not that many goals because of Málaga, so maybe a draw again?
